"Build a cathedral"--Peter Drucker, Business Management Expert and Thinker
Our Path Note Topic
A person was walking along a construction site, and walked up to a worker and asked what he was doing. The worker replied, "I'm a mason, I'm laying brick". The person continued walking, and came upon another worker and asked what are you doing? This worker said, "I'm a mason, I'm building a wall". The person continued until coming upon yet another worker, and, again, asked what are you doing. This worker responded by saying, "I'm a mason, I'm building a cathedral".
The third worker sees himself as being part of something bigger, an important cause or purpose.
We as educators, no matter our role in the schools, are part of building a cathedral in which our students can live better lives and build a wonderful future society and provide our country a strong national security.
WASD has a vision of First Choice. First Choice is our cathedral we are building for the young people of this community. You are that third worker.

Piece of the Puzzle
This Week's Piece of the Puzzle is Brandie Burd. Brandie is the Building Behavioral Health Technician at Fairview. She has a true passion for working with students, especially those who need a little more attention to be successful every day. Brandie cares deeply about the learners she works with and is always looking for ways to help them be successful. Her patience and knowledge in her field are unsurpassed. She is the first to offer assistance to coworkers. Her work ethic and dependability are just two of many personality characteristics that make her such a valuable member of the Falcon Nest. For Brandie, this is not a job; it is truly her heart.
Join us in congratulating Brandie Burd as this week's Piece of the Puzzle!

Challenge Answers
A school in the Philippines is made entirely of recycled pop bottles.
The school named Bottle School is one of its kind in Asia. It took about 9,000 bottles and dozens of volunteers to build the structure. Each bottle was filled with sand, water and straw to keep them sturdy. Then, a cement-like substance was used to hold the bottles in place as they were stacked on top of each other to create walls.
