Parent Night for "Navigating through your child's new iPad Device"

Fourth and fifth grade parents are invited to attend a session on how to navigate (and even place restrictions) through your child's new iPad device. The session will be held on Monday, September 19th from 6:00-7:00 pm in the WES Cafeteria. Be sure to bring your child's iPad and your child's passcode in order to access the iPad!

*** Change was made on 9/11 to wear red, white, and blue for Patriot Day, instead of pjs as indicated earlier as part of FMHS Homecoming Week!

Please mark your calendar for Monday, November 11th for our second annual Veterans' Day Ceremony!

Attendance Reminders

Being present each day is important to student learning. We understand that sometimes absences are unavoidable and when making a request for a planned absence, please consider that absent students miss experiences and instruction that cannot be fully recaptured. The district will accept parent notes to excuse an illness, personal, or pre-approved absence for no more than 8 full or partial day absences during the school year. No more than 6 of these absences may occur in a semester. Any additional absences will require a note from a health care provider or documentation of an absence exempt from compulsory attendance, in order to be excused.

WATCHDOGS Meeting on September 12th from 6-7 pm

Thanks to the support of PTA, our wonderful counselors, Staci Stewart and Tracie Kroenert, Wellington is continuing our successful WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program for on-site involvement of Dads, Stepdads, Grandfathers, Uncles, and other male role models in the daily activities at our school. Please join us on Thursday, September 12th from 6:00-7:00 pm to enjoy pizza with your child and learn more about it!

LATE Arrivals

If you arrive after 7:45 am, please park your car to walk your child into the building. We will have a sign out front coming soon to remind you that the bell has already rung. Thanks for your understanding!

Voly Updates Needed:

We are excited for the start of the 2019-2020 school year! With a new year comes a continued need for volunteers on our campus. School board policy does require volunteers to undergo and pass a criminal background check prior to volunteering on a campus. Our background check is done in partnership with our volunteer management system, VOLY (our VOLY site in LISD is Lewisvilleisd.voly.org).

All returning volunteers will need to renew their VOLY application upon their first sign in for the school year regardless of your background check status. If you have done this step as part of your back to school forms, then you will not be asked to do that again. If you need to do this for the first time, please select My Applications and then “Application”. If no information has changed, scroll down and click “Save”.

Thank you for volunteering with us! More information and FAQ’s can be found at lisd.net/volunteer. Questions or support needs can be sent to Partnerships@lisd.net.
