We are off to a Great Start!!!

Thank you for a great start to the 2022-23 School Year! We are so happy to have students back in the building - welcoming new students and seeing how much some of our returning students have grown. We have spent the first week reviewing expectations and building classroom cultures. We hope that your student has come home with stories of connection and fun.

RTI classes will begin the discussion about setting goals this week. Ask your child about what goals they might want to set for themselves for the school year.

Congratulations XC Runners!

Congratulation to our Cross Country runners in their debut meet for the season. For many of our runners this was their first ever meet! They learned so much and are ready to take on the season. Next week they will have two events - catch them!

We look forward to our Football and Volleyball teams kicking off their seasons soon as well. There are exciting things happening in Coloma Athletics.

CARE Expectations

At the Junior High we follow the CARE expectations. While this is similar to the expectations at CES and CIS, it looks different at the secondary level. Teachers and students spent the first week of school discussing the expectations and what they look like in each area of the building. Students are issued CARE cards periodically for meeting expectations. Care cards can be exchanged for items in our Care store that is located outside the cafeteria as well as upcoming incentives and activities.

After School Study Hall - Will begin on Sept. 13th

The Junior High provides After School Study Hall on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Study hall runs from 3:05 (after dismissal) to 4:05.

Students must have their own transportation home at 4:05. No sign up or fees required. Students can come as often as they need. Students are provided with a quiet space with reliable internet to work on homework with a certified teacher to assist.

As a student at the JH your child has been issued a Chromebook. The Chromebook will be their responsibility to care for and bring charged daily. We have reviewed all of the expectations with students when they received their devices. Students also participate in short daily lessons on how to effectively and efficiently use their devices.

Parents can purchase insurance for accidental damage for $20 for the school year. This is highly encouraged. Insurance does not cover the protective case or charger. Students must maintain their chromebook within the protective case in order for insurance to be valid. A check or cash can be turned into the main office.

Chromebook information is available here

Picture Day - Sept 15th
