~Requirements
- Must be at least 35 years old.
- Born in the USA
- Must have lived in the USA for 14 years.
~Duties, roles & responsibilities
The job of the president is the top political job in the country. Some would argue that it is the most powerful position in the world because the USA can be viewed as on of the "power nations." The president has the duties of acting as the symbol for the USA, not just anyone can be president, but a political educated individual with good morals. And someone who can serve and lead the nation.
- The president can serve up to 2 terms, there are 4 years in every term- due to the 22nd amendment in 1951, which officially limited the president on the number of terms the president can serve.
- A president can legally serve extra years, for example, when Lyndon B. Johnson served the last 14 months of JFK's presidency.
- The constitution sets up the Electoral College (indirect) method for electing president.
The president has many roles:
- Chief Executive- president is in charge of the 15 cabinet department and can make Executive orders.
- Chief Diplomat- the president directs foreign policy, executive agreement.
- Commander-in-Chief- the president is in charge of the army, navy, air force, marines, and coast guard. He can send in troops, but not declare war.
- Legislative leader- president must sign bills into laws, has a legislative program.
- Head of state- ceremonial role, which represents America at special occasions and ceremonies. The president acts as a living symbol of the USA.
- Economic leader- the president deals with several economic issues, such as:
- Unemployment rates
- Inflation
- High taxes
7. Party Leader- the president is viewed as the leader of his/her political party and they elect the party's national chairperson.

- The president makes $400,000 annually, since 2001.
- They have extra money for expenses and travel.
- They also encountered special benefits, such as:
- The use of Camp David
- A fleet of special cars, helicopters, airplanes, etc.
