Library Happenings
Peace, Love & Books - Scholastic Book Fair - December 7th-11th; Monday-Thursday 8:00-4:30 & Friday 8:00-1:00
We are really promoting the eWallet feature this book fair. The great thing about eWallet is you don't have to send your child to school with money or a credit card (but you still can). You can also send the link to friends and family and they can add funds as well. Any money left over becomes a gift card that doesn't expire & can be used at our Spring Book Fair or through Scholastic online.
We are also participating in "All For Books". This allows you to donate cash or the remainder of an eWallet balance back to CMS. Typically, the donation is a dollar or less. This year we will be in a partnership and splitting the donation with Humble Middle School. This will allow some of our CMS students to get a book from the book fair who wouldn't normally be able to get one. Humble Middle School will be able to purchase books for their library.
We will also be encouraging our teachers to set up their own eWallet accounts so they can receive donations to buy books for their classrooms. We can't wait for it to begin!
Virtual or want to shop online? There is a link that takes you to the online Scholastic Store. Please make sure you go through the link in the flyer below and sign up with Creekwood Middle School. The very popular sequel to Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie is available online - After Ever After .
In Schoology, I will be posting a Bitmoji Scholastic Book Fair page that has similar links to those found in the link below - including the book trailers Scholastic provided. Encourage your student(s) to watch these. Every day at announcement, Mr. Winicki will be giving a hint for one of the featured books. There will be a spot for students to put their guess in the library & have a chance to win the book!
And another huge thank you to PTA for organizing the volunteers! There is one spot left. The link to the sign up genius is on the CMS Scholastic Homepage as well.
CMS Bookmobile - As we wrap up the end of the semester, the bookmobile will be retired. If the need arises in January, of course, it will be made available again. If you have a Virtual student, we can still arrange pick up for books placed on hold. Just email or message me through Schoology. I am here 8:00-5:00 most days and we can work it out.
