What's Buzzin' at Bryant

Week of March 6, 2023

A Message from Mrs. Johnson

Hello Bryant families,

We have about two more months left in the school year. I guarantee it is going to fly by so quickly. Please be sure to be in communication with your child's teacher about their academic and/or behavioral progress. Let's stay in communication with each other and end the year strong.

On average, we have about 35 students tardy to school everyday. This number is higher than what we would like to see. Being on time to school for students, like being on time to work for adults, is a life skill that students must learn. If you having a difficult time getting your child up for school in the morning, consider an earlier bed time. Once the student is in bed check in on him/her to ensure they are not on thier electronic devices when they should be sleeping. Let's work together to reduce the number of students arriving to school tardy.

Lastly, spring break is the week of March 20th. All RUSD facilities will be closed with the exception of those sites hosting our District Extended Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP). School will resume on March 27, 2023. Enjoy your break!

As always, Bee Fantastic, Bee Great, Bee the Difference! Have a great week!

Read Across America

Oh, the Placed You'll Go!!! Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr Seuss, is the best-selling author of children's books in the world. His books have been part of the childhood of many of us. Each year, his legacy and the impact he has had in promoting literacy for all children is regonized on Read Across America Day. Thank you to Mr. Geisel for encouraging all of us to read, read, read!

We are SUPER SCIENTIST IN KINDERGARTEN!

Our summers are getting hotter and hotter. Bryant's kinder students are studying climate and the effects on the enviorment. The goal of the students was to create a structure that can reduce the warming effect of sunlight on an area. They had to present how they created the structure and the materials they used to create it. We tested it by holding a light source (flashlight) over the top to see if it created shade.

Let's Celebrate Awesome Attendance!!!!

Congratulations to Mrs. Hara and his super students for having the highest attendance percentage for the week. Thank you so much for always being at school ready to learn. Parents, this recognition also goes out to you. Keep up the fantastic work!

Core Virtues for the month of March - Mercy

Mercy is the compassionate treatment of those in distress, especially when it is within one’s power to punish or harm them. Mercy doesn't always involve grand moments or gestures. But it always treats the position of influence, authority or power it acts from gently. Mercy makes room for others. Sometimes mercy means choosing not to complain to the restaurant manager when the service you received was lacking. That is the mercy of kindness. Sometimes mercy means not making it difficult for the person who offended you to apologize. That is the mercy of forgiveness. Sometimes mercy means correcting someone gently and not acting smug or vindictive. That is the mercy of grace. Sometimes mercy means helping a child escape poverty. That is the mercy of compassion. We will all need to show and be shown mercy in our lives. Make room in your heart for someone else. Extend mercy to someone this week.
