Adopt a Soldier - Thank you!
We would like to thank those of you who contributed to the Adopt a Soldier campaign this year. We are sending 65 care packages of hygiene items, food, socks, baby wipes, games and reading material to soldiers serving abroad. We also mailed over 700 holiday cards! Special shout out to our Grizzly Cubs for their truly generous donations! Special thanks to UPS in Snohomish for once again partnering with us in processing the boxes and discounting the mailing cost. Also, to Jeanette Gagner for once again doing the groundwork on procuring an APO address for us to mail the boxes to. Grizzlies making a difference!
Annual Toy Drive
Tomorrow is the last day to donate to the Toy Drive!
It is time for our annual Toy Drive. Let’s get together and brighten the holidays for some families in need that live in our community by donating toys to the Maltby Food Bank. These toys will be distributed to children who might not otherwise receive anything during this giving season. Let’s help brighten a child’s holiday by donating a new, unwrapped toy to Mr. Hauck in room 315, or to the bin in the main office. Toy collection starts today, Monday, November 22, 2021 and goes through December 9, 2021. Thank you for your generosity to our community.
Snohomish Aquatic Center Interviews
Representatives from the Snohomish Aquatic Center will be in the career center THIS Friday, December 10, conducting interviews for Swim Instructors. If you are 15 or older, enjoy working with kids and are available to work after school a couple days a week, please go see them on Friday right after school in the career center!
Holiday Gift Card Giving Opportunity
Hello Glacier Peak families! Our Counseling office is so excited for the opportunity to run our Dream Gift Giving Program again this year. Students in our GP community have chosen up to three gift card options that can be split up. We kindly ask the limit to be $60 per student and once you purchase the gift card(s), please place it in an envelope and number it with the number assigned to the student. You may drop the envelope off at Glacier Peak (GP) in the main office. Please have all gift cards to GP by Friday, December 10 at 2:30 p.m. and the counseling team will distribute the gift cards to students. . Please click this link to the Students Dream List. Art Club Fundraiser
The Life Skills students and Art club are teaming up to create and sell gift bows. The Life skills students create the bows during the day with the assistance of the Art club students. The bows are $10 for 2 large bows and $10 for 8 small bows. Please use this link to the order form, orders are due no later then December 15. You can click here to do online payments, once you sign in, look for the fundraiser under Fundraisers/Donations tab or you can pay in person at the bookkeeping office, bring a printout of your order form with you. Please pick up your orders no later then December 17, 2021 by 10 a.m. in the main office.

Athletic Events
Students must have their ASB card on their person for free entry to home athletic events. Make sure you either have the red ASB dot on your card or the sticker identifying you purchased an ASB card. If you purchased an ASB card and do not have the red dot or sticker, stop by the bookkeeping office and they can assist you – make sure you bring your ID card. For GP home events, we will accept a clear photo of your entire ASB card, for away events, you will want to make sure you have your actual ASB card to receive the discounted student price.
Game Reminders:
- Properly worn mask are required for all spectators, at all times. Please be respectful to staff that are tasked with enforcing this statewide mandate. Students that must be continually reminded to properly wear their masks may be asked to leave the game due to non-compliance.
- No signs or artificial noise makers are allowed. No outside food or drink.
- Re-Entry to games is not allowed after leaving. This is true for all games, home and away.
- Spectators will not be allowed on the track or field are before, during or after the game.
- Remember you are cheering on our team and all behaviors of our spectators are a direct reflection of the GP community.
- Be loud, be proud and be positive.
Glacier Peak Athletes
If you have committed to continue your athletic career in college and will be signing a letter of intent or a letter of commitment, please let the athletic office know. With so many different signing dates and our athletes committing throughout the year, we plan to recognize all of our athletes that commit to playing college at the same time in the Spring.
Seniors! The Local Scholarship Program is Coming Soon!
Seniors interested in applying to the LSP please complete this form to indicate you plan on applying. Scholarships will be open by February 2022. Seniors complete your profiles now on the washboard.org! Drop in LSP workshops will be every Wednesday in the College and Career Center during all 3 lunches and Grizzly period! 2022 Senior Grad Night Party
Seniors it is time to sign up for your parent led, Grad Night Party! On December 7, 10, 13, and 17 look for parent volunteers in the Commons during all 3 lunches near the Grad Night Posters to sign up and pay. The early bird ticket price is $225, via check or Venmo. The grad night party will be on Monday, June 13, 2022, immediately after graduation. Parents please join the GP Grad Night 2022 Facebook page or fill out this document to receive the updates via email, you don’t want to miss any important details! Spread the word and get ready to celebrate your GRADUATION!

Financial Aid Information and Filing Events
If you would like help completing the FAFSA or WASFA, please consider attending a virtual filing event. The 12th Year Campaign are hosting statewide virtual financial aid completion events and would love to help you answer your questions! The 2022-23 FAFSA opens on October 1, filing events are scheduled on Wednesday evenings October through December. Please see this spreadsheet for registration information and exact dates and times.

College Visits
College admission representatives will be visiting from the following colleges. In person visits will take place in the College and Career Center (located in the library). Students wishing to attend virtual visits are welcome to come to the College and Career Center (C&CC). Please sign up here for visits and indicate if you need a pass out of class to attend. Students may eat their lunches in the C&CC for lunch visits. Please contact Kari Winckler with any questions. Visits are open to all grade levels.
Bank of America Student Leaders
The Bank of America Student Leader Program is now accepting applications from current junior or seniors. Students can apply for the program by going to bankofamerica.com/studentleaders. The deadline for the Student Leader application is January 28, 2022.
The Coolidge Scholarship
Juniors! The Coolidge Scholarship is now open! The 2022 Coolidge Scholarship application is live and accepting applications. The application deadline is now less than two months away -- January 19, 2022 at 5:00 PM Eastern time. The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride, four-year, merit scholarship that may be used by recipients for undergraduate study at any accredited college or university in the United States. Any current high school junior who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2023 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply (current high school seniors are not eligible to apply). Grizzly Cub Event
Our next Grizzly Cub event is Wednesday, December 15. Come dressed in your ugly sweater to see the holiday movie ELF at the Everett Regal Cinemas- 1402 SE Everett Mall Way, Everett, WA. Movie starts at 4:30 p.m. Movie tickets are included for all grizzlies and cubs, concession treats are not provided but the stand will be open at 4 for grizzlies and their cubs to purchase items. The movie will end at 6:10 p.m. - please be prompt in picking your student up after the movie.
Students, you will need to go to see Mrs. Proctor-Longs in room 319, by this Friday, December 10, to sign up to get your ELF ticket.
Annual Food Drive
This Friday, December 3, kicks off our Annual Food Drive benefitting the Maltby Food Bank. The Maltby Food Bank serves over 500 people who are struggling to provide for their families here in our local community. Food items can be brought to your first period classroom. Items most requested are:
- Stuffing
- Jell-O
- Rice-A-Roni
- Condiments
- Canned items
Monetary donations are greatly appreciated as they assist in purchasing perishable items like meats, milk, eggs, and cheese, and also with needs like electricity and heat. Please bring monetary donations to the Bookkeeper or click this link to donate online, and turn in your duplicate receipt to your first period teacher for counting. Please join us as we reach of our goal of $15,000 this year!
Pit Orchestra for the Spring Musical Cinderella
The Pit Orchestra is looking for more students to join for the upcoming Spring Musical. Want to learn some cool music and support the spring musical Cinderella? Come join Pit orchestra! If you play an orchestra or band instrument, piano, percussion, OR you know someone who does, contact Mr. Morris via email or stop by room 504. We meet Tuesdays after school from 2:30 to 4, we can also have students from outside GP, so help us spread the word! Come join Pit Orchestra!
Lifeguard Training - Winter Break
The Snohomish Aquatic Center is offering two lifeguard training courses at the Snohomish Aquatic Center over Winter Break. Visit www.sno.wednet.edu/lifeguardtraining to learn more. BSU (Black Student Union) Club is starting back up on Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in Mrs. Veach's classroom, 312. BSU hopes to create cultural unity and provide a safe space for students to talk about things that impact their lives especially as it pertains to race, culture, inclusion, and diversity. BSU does not discriminate with who can participate and engage in these conversations. All students are invited.

FFA-Vet Science Club is available to students in Animal or Advanced Animal Biology for active membership. Other students not enrolled in those courses may attend meetings but may not become active members. This club focuses on veterinary medicine and the multiple FFA Vet science competitions that lead up to the State Competition at WSU. Meeting Thursdays, 2:20 in room 108.

Game Club kicked off with a bang! We meet in room 209 after school until 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays! No need to know how to play one of the many games we have! Just show up and have fun. See Mr. Benson for details.
Game Club is hosting a draft tournament of the newest Magic the Gathering set on Thursday, December 9. PM at the PEAK!
What is PM at the Peak? An opportunity for students to get specific support in their classes. It is not simply a ‘study hall’. While students are welcome to use the time to study and work independently, it is designed to provide students an opportunity to ask for, and receive help on their homework, essays, projects, etc. There will be teachers and student tutors available, there is no formal process students need to complete to attend. It is open to anyone and everyone. All classroom Covid guidelines apply (masks and distancing). There is no transportation home offered at this time. Mondays and Wednesdays: 2:30-4 p.m. Where: Room 204
