This Week in Review

Your students have worked very hard this week. We were able to focus and complete our district benchmarks and still have time for some fun holiday craft activities. Way to push through to the end Cosmos!

December 21-January 3 Holiday Break

Language Arts Homework

Over the break I asked your child to complete 2 grammar sheets, and answer a couple questions for their homework over 3 weeks of break. It will be due 1/8/15.

The question they need to ask you is: What was your favorite book that you read when you were in 4th grade (or any chapter book from when you were in elementary).

It is my goal that your child will eventually read the book that was your favorite when you were their age for homework. It is my hope that in reading one of your favorite books, you can have good conversations at home about the book without having it feel like homework and to bring some excitement into reading!

Please be mindful of the book you give. I do want it to be one of your favorites when you were little, but I also want the students to be able to read it without struggling, and without it being too easy for them.

I will be making a list for the books after break, and I will do my best to find a copy of each, but if you have the book already, please let me know!

The second question they are answering is: What was your favorite and least favorite thing that happened over the break.

If you have any questions about the homework, please let me know.
