Twilight Camp 2015

Day 3 Recap

Webelos Den F-16 Falcon

Day 3 was a hot one! Don't forget to put sunscreen on your boys before camp starts. Day 3 was packed with lots of activities.

See you all this afternoon for Day 4!

Reminders for the remainder of camp

The last day of camp (Thursday) has a special water activity followed by closing ceremonies. It's recommended to send your child with swim trunks and a towel. They can wear their swim trunks for the entire day on Thursday if they are comfortable that way. Also, a set of dry clothes is recommended.

This is a reminder that there will be no carpool on Thursday night. Come on up to the arena to watch the closing ceremony presentations.

Note: Last day schedule: Closing ceremony:

The boys were able to return to the BB Gun range and had ample time for BB Gun shooting! They were also able to shoot cola cans and watch them burst. Fun times!

Rotation 2 - STEM

There is more emphasis on the STEM initiative within the Cub Scout program. This rotation had three stations: One on buoyancy, another on chromatography, and one on astronomy.

For the buoyancy presentation, they played the sink/float game.

For the chromatography presentation, they had to guess which marker was used to leave the lunch ransom note. They were able to determine the marker based on the chromatography pattern and colors that separated from the original black ink.

The third station was about our solar system and distance from the sun, orbits, and rotations.

ROTATION 3 - Lunch and Trading Post

Lunch was good, but the girl den declined a second round of ultimate frisbee. So, the boys played a game of band-aid tag and did some trading post shopping.

Rotation 4 - Fire Building

Troop 431 provided the boys with four stations about campfire building, and safe camping practices. They reviewed how to use flint and steel to create sparks to start a fire. They also reviewed how to have a safe campsite.
