RANDLE HIGH SCHOOL UPDATE
Dear Randle High School Families,
As we start the first week of the 3rd six-week grading period, please share with your students that tardies start over. We will be hosting Saturday school this Saturday for students who exceeded 6 tardies for the second 6 weeks.
I also wanted to point out every student should have an agenda. Every agenda has a Grade Point calculation page after every six weeks. Please take the time to go through this page with your student once you receive their report cards. It is a good reference for figuring out what your student needs to to make this six weeks to have a passing average for the semester.
During the third 6 weeks we will be providing two major assessments. The first assessment is our district assessment/ benchmarks. This is for every student. This test is extremely important because it will help us identify who will need additional tutoring. Please stress the importance of this test to your student.
The second assessment we will be delivering is December STAAR retest. Please be on the look out if you need to take this test. We will send a call out for all Sophomores who need pass the STAAR assessment. We will also provide additional information regarding tutoring. Remember, tutoring is after school Monday - Friday and on Saturday. I want to remind all students and families, this test counts for graduation.
We will also hold our final PTO start up meeting this Thursday from 6:00 - 7:30 in the School Library. We have Identified a Vice president and are hoping to identify other key Cabinet members.

ADVISORY CHANGE
Monday, October 25th, 2021, starts the beginning of a new era. At Dr. Thomas E. Randle High School, we will be incorporating two new programs developed by teachers on this campus: MANE Time and PRIDE Plus. These programs will be held during advisory classes, which is a 30-minute block during 4th period.
MANE Time: This program will allow students to build character, prepare for post-secondary goals, and receive assistance with schoolwork.
PRIDE Plus: This program is correlated with our House Bill 4545 that was recently passed for students to receive accelerate learning. If your child did not meet the state's requirements for passing STAAR, they will be placed in either an ELA or Math class depending on their grade level, STAAR scores, and required hours they need to complete.
All students will be placed in new advisories, and they were notified this past week of this change.
