Our Week in Review by Student Journalist - Keegan V.
Happy New Year! This week we’ve been learning about the
British and how they have been treated by the American colonists. Some of the time was also spent talking about the American Revolution. We will be practicing a play about the American colonists. We will be presenting the play to 4th graders or to a different 5th grade class. This week we also have 5 vocab words and a spelling test, but no root words. Whenever we have a story we work on target tabs.
In math we are learning about mixed numbers and simple fractions. This unit in math is the longest unit of 5th grade, so we will work on this unit the longest. On Tuesday we learned a song for math to help us with whole numbers and fractions. On Wednesday we also used templates to help us with our fractions. On Friday we have to do a spelling test and Reading Street test.
Would you like to capture this year’s memories with a yearbook? Your child should have brought home a yearbook flyer in this week's Friday folder. You may purchase the Martin yearbook online through Lifetouch using the following link: ybpay.lifetouch.com. The Yearbook ID Code is: 10097316. The purchase price is $16.00. Orders will only be accepted online this year. The school will not accept cash or check payments. The deadline to place an order is March 18th, 2016. Orders received after this date will not be accepted due to deadlines enforced by the yearbook company.
Don't miss out! The yearbook is a great keepsake.
