Bay Lane Newsletter
May 2018
Message from Principal Zandt
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are moving into the last month of this school year with May 31st being the last student day. There are many opportunities during the month of May to be a part of some exciting events here at Bay Lane. This includes the PTO's Color Run, 5th grade DARE Graduation, 6th grade band concert, 7th & 8th grade band concert, and the choir concert. All of these "Important Dates" and times are listed directly below this newsletter. Please join us as we experience many memories during our last month as Bay Lane Middle School!
As many of you know, I'm retiring at the end of this school year to spend more time with my family. My granddaughter, Jemma Sophia, was born 3 weeks ago and we are all experiencing the joys of her presence in our lives as our first grandchild!
I will be forever grateful for the opportunity I had to serve the students, parents, and the community of Muskego. When I started my teaching career in 1991, after staying home with my three children, I envisioned a lifelong career of teaching. I didn't realize that a short seven years later, I would begin my first principal appointment and spend the next 20 years as an administrator. Life has a funny way of taking you down paths you didn't necessarily plan, however, I wouldn't have wanted it to be any different!
I can say it has been incredibly rewarding to work along side of all of the teachers here at Bay Lane. If you don't already know this, the teachers at Bay Lane are some of the hardest working and dedicated I've had the pleasure to work with during my educational career. I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your support and the opportunity I had to work with the most precious commodity we have - your children!
Blessings to all of you, have a safe summer and I hope to see you at Muskego Lakes Middle School when you have the grand opening of the new building in the Muskego-Norway School District!
In appreciation,
Mrs. Dawn Zandt, Principal

PBIS School Store- May 2018
The PBIS School Store returns May 8th and 9th, for the final sale of the school year! Bay Lane Staff has been acknowledging students for being Respectful, Responsible students since the start of the year. Students have been saving their red tickets up to purchase a variety of fabulous items from the school store.
The school store works like this: Students bring their red tickets to lunch and “go shopping” after they finish eating. The tickets they use to purchase items will not go into the Friday prize drawing, big quarterly prize drawings, or big end of year drawing, since they have already received recognition.
Remember, the students do not need to use their red tickets at the school store. They can use them to turn into their grade level bin in the office for weekly Friday drawings. There are 2 winners per grade level each week. The tickets in the grade level bins are saved all quarter to be used for the big quarterly prize drawings, as well as for the big end of the year drawing.
Parents and Guardians, donations are accepted and appreciated for the School Store. If you wish to donate an item/s, please send them to the Bay Lane Office with a note stating it’s a donation for the PBIS School Store.
The Bobcats are doing an awesome job earning their red tickets and making Bay Lane a Respectful, Responsible Community! The Bay Lane staff is proud of them!
