May 26th: Graduation Ceremony (Please read below Grad Information for details) at 12 p.m. am at the Fairgrounds. Seniors are asked to arrive at 11:15 a.m. for graduation, doors will open at 11:15 a.m.


  • There will be a $8 parking fee the day of graduation. Paper bills including one- and five-dollars bills will be accepted. No coins are accepted (CASH or CARD)
  • Each Senior will be provided 10 admission tickets that will be issued on Thursday, May 25th after rehearsal at Spoto High School.
  • Students and parents/guests will use the MLK or HWY 301 gates for entry.

Let's Get Ready for Your Senior Year Class of 2024- Senior Summer Checklist

Summer before senior year checklist

  • Research and explore colleges. This summer, visit as many college campuses as

  • Brainstorm college essay topics.

  • Begin writing your college essays.

  • Update your college application resume. You’ll need a high school student resume for both college and scholarship applications.

  • Create an Activities List for your college applications. Use the Common App Activities Section as your guide.

  • Register for the SAT or ACT. Even though many colleges have gone (at least temporarily) test-optional, taking the SAT or ACT at least once is a smart move. It may improve your admissions chances!

  • Make a master calendar of all important dates and deadlines. Include test dates, college application deadlines, financial aid deadlines, and scholarship application deadlines.

  • Meet with your guidance counselor
  • Get involved in extracurricular activities
  • Getting involved: Continue to build your credentials- Keep track of your extracurricular awards, community service achievements, and anything else you participate in
  • Create your resume
  • Begin getting ready for the ACT or SAT
  • Stay on track with your courses: Talk with your guidance counselor to make sure you’re enrolled in the classes you need to prepare you for college or a career
  • Explore your career options in more detail: “Job shadow” someone who does what you think you’d like to do
  • Volunteer in your community
  • Start your college or career search

10th Grade Summer Checklist - Plan Ahead

Meet with your high school counselor

  • Schedule an appointment with your school counselor to make sure your course schedule is challenging enough to prepare you for college
  • Find out about the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)—it’s accepted by 2,900 colleges and universities and can help you get college credit, save money, and save time

Explore Advanced Placement Courses

  • Learn about the AP Program and how it can lead to college credit, advanced placement, or both at most colleges in the U.S.
    • Consider which of the 38 AP courses you want to take next school year
    • If you’re already enrolled in a course, be sure to register for AP Exams. Taking AP Exams helps you show colleges you’re committed and motivated to succeed. Check with your AP teacher or coordinator about your school’s registration deadline.

Take the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10

If you’re thinking of attending a U.S. military academy

  • Request a precandidate questionnaire from an academy you’re interested in

Along with your family, research how to get financial aid

Inside the classroom

Attend college fairs or a campus tour

  • Attend at least one college fair and talk to representatives from colleges you may be interested in
  • If possible, visit a college nearby to see what campus life is like

9th grade Summer Checklist

Create a four-year high school plan

  • Think about what you’d like to accomplish in high school
  • Meet with your school counselor to make sure you’re taking the right classes
  • Ask your teachers about the types of courses offered by your school.
    • For example: If you’re interested in taking an honors class, are there required classes you have to take first?

Start thinking about what you’re interested in outside of the classroom

Participate in extracurricular activities

  • Participate in extracurricular activities such as sports teams, school clubs, drama clubs, or volunteering
  • If you’re interested in playing college sports, make sure you research the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as early as your freshman year
    • The NCAA requires completion of certain core classes in high school for eligibility
    • Visit the NCAA Eligibility Center for more information

Save for college

  • Start saving money for college. It’s never too late or too early—every little bit helps
  • Learn about financial aid, student loans, and scholarship opportunities that will help you pay for college

Explore summer opportunities

  • Apply for a job or internship, or volunteer in your community
    • These experiences will help you learn about yourself and even put you on a path to your future career

Get familiar with PSAT-related assessments and the SAT

  • Ask your teacher if the PSAT 8/9 is offered at your school and sign up if it is
    • This test will help you build up skills, so you’ll be ready to take the SAT in 11th or 12th grade

Community Service Profferfish

Summer is a great time to earn some community service hours!


Please note for community service hours for rising 9th graders: Bright Futures credits cannot be earned until the student is enrolled in High School and assigned a counselor. For Hillsborough County the roll over occurs in the mainframe during the month of July and the accounts are created by an automated system. We will send notices out on Peachjar when incoming 9th graders may begin to log on.
