Welcome Back to School!
Dear Elementary Parents,
Happy New Years!! I hope you had a wonderful holiday and students are feeling relaxed and ready to return to school. With the rising number of Covid cases, 2022 is already proving to be challenging, however I know that by working together as a community we will persevere to keep everyone safe. Our commitment to everyone’s health and wellbeing is at the forefront of all we do!
As protocols, rules and regulations change, I will communicate the changes to our ES community.
Please remember that if you have questions about anything at all, please don't hesitate to contact me directly. (Lgibson@dunecrest.ae. 055 104 2718).
Here are a few notes about the start to the New Year:
School Timings for Monday to Thursday:
All students will start at 7:40AM and finish at 3:20 PM from KG2 to Grade 5. The Middle and High School students will finish at 3:30PM.
School Timings for Friday:
All students will start at 7:40AM and Pre KG to Grade 5 students will finish at 11:50AM. The Middle and High School students will finish at 12:00.
The Cafeteria will be closed for the first two weeks, so please ensure that your child has a healthy packed lunch, a water bottle, and snacks for the day with them.
Students that are not able to come to school due to being in close contact or testing positive themselves for COVID will be able to access our online learning platform which will be a combination of Zoom and SeeSaw.
If this is the case, please contact the class teachers directly, copy firstname.lastname@example.org, and also copy me into that email please so that we are prepared to support students.
ALL faculty, staff and external providers have been required to have a negative PCR taken within 72 hours to be allowed on campus.
As per last year, only vaccinated parents will be allowed inside Dunecrest facilities. We will be trying to limit the numbers on campus at one time, so please help us by picking up students quickly and minimizing the amount of time spent in the school building. As there are NO extra curricular activities, the expectation will be that ALL students be picked up at 3:30. Please do not leave them longer to play after hours.
Constant hand washing, reminders for students not to touch their eyes, mouth and nose will be enforced by all of us.
We will step up the fogging and disinfect procedures that we used during the first Covid outbreak that keep us all safe & healthy.
Sick policy will be thoroughly enforced - Please DO NOT SEND your child with a runny nose, fever, stomach ache or any flu symptoms as they will be immediately be taken to the nurse and sent back home! It is always better to error on the side of caution during this pandemic!
Please do send your child with a mask that fits them and is comfortable. Please also send spare masks for them to access if need be. Proper mask wearing is essential during this time.
Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation with all of this. I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow,
Elementary School Principal
