Junior Achievement
We are still in need of Junior Achievement Volunteers for K-2nd Grade!
Junior Achievement's unique delivery system provides the training, materials, and support necessary to bolster the chances for student success. Volunteers visit classrooms just a few times throughout the semester. They share their workforce experience with kindergarten-12th grade students, all while teaching sound economic principles and reinforcing class curricula. Nine out of 10 teachers believe experiential learning is effective in getting students interested in higher education and careers.
For more information or to sign up to volunteer, contact Rachel Tan, Rachel.Tan@ja.org
~Grandparent's Day Program~
The Monroe Kindergarten through Fourth graders will be presenting their 2018 Grandparents’ Day program, A Tribute to “The Sound of Music” on Wednesday, February 28 at 1pm. It is my pleasure to extend an invitation to you to come and enjoy this presentation that the students have been working on.
This is one of the most popular events that the school hosts each year and we do our best to accommodate the large audience in attendance. The gym will be open for seating beginning at 12:15pm; we ask that you please not arrive before. Please reserve the folding chairs on the gym floor specifically for Grandparents. If you have specific seating needs, please make this known to an administrator on your arrival that afternoon. Some limited “overflow” seating will be available in the cafeteria using the TV monitor.
Please be aware that parking on this day tends to be hectic. St Anthony’s has made known to us that while they are okay to have people park in their lots for this performance, they ask that you please not park in the circle drive in front of the church.
To go along with our theme, I would ask that the students try to wear a few specific things.
Kindergarten: Yellow
1st Grade: Green or White
2nd Grade: Black or White
3rd Grade: Blue
4th Grade: Red
Please try to avoid shirts with lots of writing or prints on them. In the event that your child does not have the specific color assigned to their grade, I would ask that they please wear a shirt that has a base/solid color of white or black. You should not need to go out and buy anything new, please just do the best with what you have available!
4th Graders with speaking parts will have a separate letter sent home with information on attire.
Thank you so much for your cooperation and support of the students during this program. If you have any questions about the program, please don’t hesitate to contact me through the school.

Bergner's Community Day Fundraiser!
If everyone sells/buys just one book we could profit nearly $1,500 for Monroe!
Order forms will be sent home soon. Please return them back to school by February 23rd to make sure orders are filled and returned to you by February 27th. This was a very successful fundraiser for our school last year and we are hoping it will be even better this year! All funds raised for this event will help fund a new projector, screen, and sound system for the gym.
