Our Persecution
The Romans think that our Christian faith is a menace to our society. The masters think that if the slaves become occupied with the personal salvation of their souls and believe that they possess truth through their religion that it would endanger their obedience to their masters and thus the whole structure of Roman society. They are wanting to destroy our religion. This is why Christians are being persecuted.
Nero has blamed the destruction of Rome on the Christians. He has now made our religion illegal, and now we are forced to worship underground. They have recently accused us of disloyalty, and of practicing incest, black magic, and cannibalism.
