Operation Gratitude Candy Drive Update!
Rose Glen Families,
Thanks to your generosity we were able to provide a LOT of candy to Operation Gratitude's Candy Collection. This is a great organization with a mission that "seeks to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of the U.S. military and First Responder communities." In the last 15 years they have sent out over 3 million care packages and each care package includes a handful or two of candy - the candy that all of you donated!!
THE RESPONSE TO OPERATION GRATITUDE'S CANDY DONATION WAS BEYOND AMAZING!!! THE DONATIONS WERE ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT WAS EXPECTED. WHEN ALL WAS SAID AND DONE WE COLLECTED....
AND DRUM ROLL PLEASE....
242 POUNDS OF CANDY
Thank you to each family who dropped candy off this week!
Wondering what 242 lbs of candy looks like? Take a look at the photos.
242 lbs. of candy! WOW!
All ready to be mailed!
Awesome Job, Rose Glen Eagles!

Guidance Lessons for November
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Your child will complete the “Personal Safety” lesson soon. The lesson includes the following themes:
• Physical Safety and Respect
• Private Body Safety and Respect
• Safety Regarding Strangers and Others
• Internet Safety and Respect (5th grade)
At the end of each lesson, children will be encouraged to talk with family members and other adult caregivers about the concepts. Talking with your child about these topics can enhance his or her ability to avoid or deal with potentially harmful situations. Shared are some online resources to help guide these conversations.

Lost and Found!
Please take a look at the below items and let us know if you recognize any of them. As many of you are aware, we tend to accumulate A LOT of lost items throughout the year. We are trying to minimize this for the upcoming year. Each week we will send a picture of lost items for you to claim. If they are not claimed then we will ensure that they go to a donation center in our area. What is most helpful is if you label your child's clothing and school items. We can then easily identify the item and make sure that the lost item is found and hopefully also save you a trip to have to buy another one. Please label items such as jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, and lunchboxes. Only two items in the Lost and Found were labelled!! As winter approaches please make sure that you label boots, snow pants, hats, and mittens. Black snow pants seem to be a favorite here at Rose Glen and so labeling them will ensure that everyone has there own black snow pants and that if a pair gets lost then we can ensure it gets to the right child. Thank you for your help with this and looking forward to year with minimal lost items :) Please email Cathe Sweet at csweet@waukesha.k12.wi.us if you recognize any of the items. The items in the photo below will be donated on Tuesday, November 20th.

Lego League News
FIRST LEGO League Jr. (our first through third grade students)
FLL Jr. teams build a LEGO model and display board that show what they have learned regarding their research topic. For this year's theme, "Mission Moon", students researched how to get water, air, and energy while living on the moon and built a model of a moon base showing how they would get and store what they needed to live.
Teams will meet with a panel of judges to show off their project and discuss what they've learned. Throughout the day, models and research will be on display in the pit area and teams love showing off what they've learned! There are also many other hands-on activities for all kids to participate in.
Shooting Stars will all be attending the expo on Sunday, November 18 at Madison College (1701 Wright St, Madison)
Space Unicorns will all be attending the expo on Saturday, December 8 Heritage Christian School inside Weatherstone Church (1500 S West Lane, New Berlin)
Rose Glen Rockets, Gravity Girls, and Cosmic Team will be attending the expo on Sunday, December 16 at Deer Creek Intermediate School (3680 S. Kinnickinnic Ave, St. Francis)

MY SCHOOL ANYWHERE - SCHOOL ONLINE DIRECTORY
Did you know that Rose Glen has an online family directory? Have you signed up yet? Having access to this directory is a great way for you to stay connected with other school families. It also is the way that you would get contact information for your child’s classmates, including information you would need for sending out birthday invitations via email or U.S. mail. (Please remember that unless your child is inviting the entire class, party invitations may not be distributed at school.)
Another important reason you may want to be included in the directory is to give your child the opportunity to be invited to birthday parties or other gatherings with classmates, since neither the teachers nor the office staff is able to share contact information with you. Hopefully you have already signed up for the family directory. If you have not, please take a few minutes to do so.
