We Are Hawks!
1/31/23
Irons Family,
I hope everyone had an enjoyable but restful weekend. It looks like the rain will be with us all week. Please expect some delays with transportation. If we have intense storms around dismissal time, we will dismiss our car riders, walkers, and bike riders a little early to ensure student safety.
7th Grade Course Request:
This week Irons counselors have started the course selection process with our 7th-grade students. All 7th students will view the presentation through their PE or athletic class. We encourage students to take 1-2 high school credit electives in 8th grade. We plan to offer Health, Communication Applications, Spanish I, Spanish Native Speakers, and Art I.
New for next year, we will offer Principles of Arts and AV and Principles of Business, Marketing and Finance. These courses directly support high school pathways for College, Career, and Military readiness.
7th Grade Students Please return your course request sheets to your coach by February 3rd.
8th Grade Course Request Due:
ORHS counselors will meet with 8th grade students through History Classes January 31-Februaary 1st to collect course requests.
School Dance:
Our next dance will be Friday, February 24th, from 7-9. We will have a limit of 400 tickets for purchase. Students with excessive tardy or discipline referrals, ISS, OSS, or DAEP placements cannot attend the dance. Tickets will be sold in all lunches February 21-24 for 10 dollars. We will not sell tickets at the door.
