Upcoming Fundraisers - Weeks of April 18 - 22 and April 25 - 29

We will be doing a "duct tape the principal to the wall" fundraiser the week of the 18th. We would also love to have one person per grade level to also volunteer to participate. We would duct tape the participants on Friday, April 22 (students pay either .50 cent or $1.00 for a yard strip of duct tape).

We will also be doing a Penny War Competition the same week as the Book Fair (the week of the 25th). We will set the containers up in classrooms while also having strategic times that week where students can go and place money in other containers to increase or decrease their earnings. The grade level winners of this competition will receive a prize of their choice.

MIS Gateway Collection Day (Tuesday, April 12) - Please help our 6th grade students and their Gateway Projects. We are collecting items to donate to various local agencies. Collection bins will be available under the front entrance shelter from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Art to Remember - All student orders must be turned in by Tuesday, April 12, 2016

PTSO Mixed Bag Fundraiser: Please remember all Mixed Bag Fundraiser orders are due by this Thurs. Apr. 14.

Report Cards on Thursday - 3rd Quarter report cards will go home with students on Thursday.

Parent Survey Reminder - Recently, we shared a Parent Communication Survey in an effort to receive feedback from our parents! Please remember to remind parents to complete the survey if they have not done so already. We also have paper copies (English and Spanish versions) in the front office if you have parents who would rather complete the survey on paper! * English version * Spanish version

Instructional Highlight

6th Grade ELA & Math After School Tutoring Teams

The teachers partnered with Maureen Laury to create spreadsheets of all CFA and EOQ data off of Mastery Connect for their after school tutoring students. This allows them to create effective groups and provide prescriptive instruction to meet the students' needs! Way to go team!

End of the Year Ideas

Also, here is a link to the padlet we worked on together during last week's staff meeting. Don't forget to check out the ideas shared by your colleagues or add more if you think of any!
