October Updates and Other Reminders

Deadline Oct. 2nd to Switch to In Person Or Virtual Learning Pathway

Happy Friday Eagle Parents and Welcome to October!

I will have to say this first 9 weeks has been a roller coaster of anticipation, excitement, and deep breaths as we settle into our new norm! We have a couple of weeks until the beginning of the 2nd 9 week period in order to prepare for any adjustments that lie ahead.

One of the anticipated adjustments that comes with the flexibility of being able to have choice in learning options is the need to adjust staffing to meet student needs and regulate class sizes. This will necessitate a few teacher changes as we add or reduce according to the outcome of the Learning Option survey. Mrs. Barentine and I have been discussing these impending changes in depth in an effort to be as prepared as possible to quickly make the needed changes. We promise to notify families as soon as schedules are set as to any class changes that might need to happen.

Let me say in advance that we appreciate everyone's flexibility and understanding in light of the current circumstances. I'm sure you know that our teachers are working themselves just about to exhaustion with the longer school day and extra hours in trying to prepare engaging lessons despite the constraints of masks, shields, sanitizing and social distancing. Your kind emails and gestures of gratitude mean a lot to them.

Remember Eagle parents-- "We Are Family" here at Ethridge and family sticks together!

Take care, stay safe, and I will be in touch again soon!

Quarantine/Isoation Time Periods

A message from LISD: We have received several inquiries from families about contact tracing and quarantine periods. While we understand this process might be confusing or even frustrating for some, we want to assure you that we are following Denton County Health Department and CDC guidelines and recommendations when it comes to who is quarantining and for how long. The Texas Medical Association has put together a helpful flowchart that may answer some of your questions or concerns. Please know, LISD’s top priority continues to be the health and safety of our 50,000 students and 6,000 staff members.
