Jackson Families,

As we near the end of 2021, I would like to wish you and your family a magical holiday season!

While some of this year hasn't been easy, I challenge you to find the good, the happy, and the memorable. For me, watching our 5th graders perform in our school gym for the first time in over a year brought me a great deal of joy. Also, watching kindergarten students speaking in front of their class with confidence and seeing the excitement of students running up our first "Up Slide" during recess, are only a few examples of joy I have found at Jackson.

Let's continue to find joy and happiness in our lives, each and everyday, as we end 2021 and jump into 2022!

Kiss N Go Lane and Crosswalks

Thank you for following the procedures put in place to make the Kiss N Go Lane run smoothly. It is VERY important that you pull all the way forward before letting your child(ren) out of the car. Only students in the Kiss N Go Lane may exit their car. It is NEVER ok to let students out in the street. This is a tremendous safety concern.

Also, we have wonderful Crossing Guards at Jackson. Mrs. Tuxhorn, Mr. Nick, Miss Megan, and Miss Joanna (just to name a few) who have been trained in making sure your child(ren) (and you) get across the street safely. PLEASE USE ALL CROSSWALKS!

Concerns about a Neighbor

There have been many concerns shared with me about a neighbor who sits in his truck all day, near the school. Please know that both D11 Security and CSPD have done background checks and have talked with this gentlemen on many occasions. He has been cleared by both. Please talk to me with any further concerns.

Cold Weather (Inclement Weather Policy)

The cold weather is coming! Please write your child's name in their coats/jackets. Every year we end up with many coats/jackets not claimed. We go out for recess at 18 degrees and above. On cold days, we ask all students to take their coats/jackets outside even if they don't want to wear them, just in case they need them. So, please remind your child(ren) to bring a coat/jacket to school during cold months.

As always, if you still have some questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Thank you,

Sara Miller

5th graders went to Starbase!

Our 5th grade classes spent a week at Peterson Air Force Base participating in STEM lessons and projects. They all had a blast!

Thank you to Mrs. Ferguson, Mrs. Sanchez, Mrs. Tuxhorn, and Mrs. Potts for giving our students such a rich experience!

Box Tops for Education (BTFE)

Dear Jackson Families,

I just wanted to remind everyone of our efforts to use Box Tops for Education for extra money for our school.

BTFE has been phasing out the original way of clipping the logo off any

participating products and they now prefer everyone using the QR code (below) that you need to download onto your phone.

It is very simple to use. Simply download the App by using the QR Code provided here. You follow the directions to connect it to our school. After shopping all you do is scan your receipt from the store. It will immediately credit each item to our school!

Thanks for helping your school!
