Important Dates & Reminders

- Jan. 11th: 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade Parent Meeting 6:30-7:30 RSVP to attend this meeting of Q & A about STAAR testing, Student Progress, Supporting Student Success through House Bill 4545. Pizza will be served based on those that RSVP, 281-641-2500

Learning Focus
How are feelings expressed in poems?
How is the reader’s imagination activated in poems?
How do poets express tough ideas and thoughts in their poems?
Math: Students will continue to work on representing and comparing fractions during the first two weeks of January. After a fractions unit test on the 13th, they move to metric and customary measurement.
Writing: Students will write original poetry.
Science: Student will explore space and weather.
Social Studies: Students will explore Texas' Road to Revolution
Assignments to be completed at home:
Students will receive math & reading homework each Monday that is due by Friday.
Reminders
*Jackets- Please write your child's name in their jackets and hoodies. Lost and found items are stacking up with little hope of being returned to their owners.
*Car riders should be picked up by 3:45
*Field trip Funds: Please be sure to pay your child's activity fee so that we can plan our Downtown Aquarium trip in the spring. Click here to pay the $15.00 online.
*Reusable water bottles (with water only) are highly encouraged in the classroom since we are not receiving water bottles this year.
*Breakfast in the classroom ends at 8:00- Breakfast is from 7:30-8:00. Please have your child here by 7:45 if you need them to eat at school. 4th graders have Specials at 8:10, so we are walking out of our class at 8:06 for our whole class restroom break.
*Lunch- Our lunch time is 12:10. If you want to have lunch with your child, please call the school to let the office know.
*Birthdays- Treats can be bought for the whole class from the cafeteria, or individually wrapped (rice krispy treats/Little Debbie snacks) Cupcake trays are not allowed.
Treats will be given out in the last 15 minutes of the day.
*Wisdom Wednesday- Students are encouraged to wear a college shirt on Wednesdays to promote higher education.
*Spirit Day- Wear your WPE or panda shirt or green for WPE’s Spirit Fridays.
