THANK YOU for a Successful Fun Run!
Madison Families!
We would like to offer a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who made the Madison Fun Run possible. We are so grateful for our students, teachers, staff and administrators, family members, friends, and all of our donors who made the day incredible! The students worked really hard and did such a great job running!
Here’s what we know so far:
We hit our goal and we had 87% of our Madison students registered. Our primary focus for these funds is supporting teacher wish lists and funding all of our PTA programs like Explore More Day and classroom parties. The students will get to look forward to having an “inflatable obstacle course day” during their PE class in the next few weeks.
We celebrated our community coming together and created unforgettable memories at our Madison Fun Run event. If you have photos you’d like to share, please send them to Sarah Tobeck or Brian Small.
We can keep fundraising! Got a matching gift? Great! The donation platform will stay open for one more week - through Wednesday, 9/28 at 8 a.m.
Prizes will be distributed after fundraising is closed (October 6-7).
We are especially grateful to all of our volunteers - especially Kevin and Kristine O’Toole, Lisa Zuber, Sophal Ryback, Ellen Giuntoli, all the room parents, and ALL of our day-of helpers. Special thanks to our t-shirt sponsors Lory Gallagher with Baird & Warner and Denise Krohn with Guaranteed Rate. Thank you for your generous support! And of course, thank you to Mr. Callahan, Mr. Cortesi, and Mrs. Davis for their leadership and logistics support. We couldn’t have done this without all of you!
Thank you for your support of our school. We are grateful for our Madison community! Until next year, we are #MadisonStrong!

P.S. In case you were meaning to donate but didn’t have the chance, you still have a week! If you’d like to continue to give and share, head to MYBOOSTER.COM today.
First PTA Meeting in the Books
Making Madison Beautiful
Thanks to everyone who came out this past weekend to clean up the landscaping, especially the Girl Scouts! The school grounds are looking amazing. It is great to see how a collective group can work together to transform a space.
The kids planted more than 300 spring bulbs - it will be wonderful to see them bloom after a long winter.
Special thanks to Beautification Committee Chair, Candace Small, for coordinating such a 'beautiful' event!
Help us Fight Hunger
PTA Reflections Program
Student entries from D200 that are selected to advance to the DuPage West Region will be honored at an awards ceremony in the winter. Students throughout the country whose work advances to the top national-level can receive prizes and scholarships and have their work showcased and exhibited.
For any student with an interest in the creative arts, this is a great way to "Show Your Voice!" Any questions can be directed to Lesley Feinsot, Reflections Chair at lesleydstephan@yahoo.com.
Hope to See You at Trivia Night!
DEI 200 Elementary Book Club
The DEI 200 elementary book club will offer two opportunities to enjoy books written by and about diverse individuals this fall! Both books are available at the public libraries and the free Libby app (connected to your library membership) and other paid media sources such as Audible.
Parents can read aloud to kiddos, kiddos can read independently or kiddos can listen to the audiobook (with or without parents).
Once complete, K - 5 participants can email Kelly to be entered for a chance to win a prize, including swag from the authors of both books!
As a reminder, these books are outside of the school curriculum. Enjoy your reading!
Go, Mountain Lions, Go!
Dear Madison Families,
My name is Emily Tasch, and I hold the role of VP-Membership. The other PTA officers and I would love your support this school year. Whether it is through volunteering, joining us at Madison events, or by generous donations, your involvement helps enrich our children’s learning environment and builds a stronger community for us all.
We are off to a great start with PTA membership registration. It is not too late to join if you haven’t already! You can access it by going to our Madison PTA page and clicking on the blue PTA Registration bar. Our organization is 100% funded through memberships and generous donations from our Madison community. With past funds, we helped the school make larger purchases including playground equipment and the gym rock wall. I am pleased to say we have new and exciting updates ahead!
In addition to the in-school benefits, your $20.00 annual membership gives you access to our mobile app/digital directory for the 2022-2023 school year. This directory includes a class list of students by teacher/grade as well as families’ contact information, which is all updated towards the end of September each school year. We hope this will provide a network to help engage families within our Madison community. If the membership fee is not in your budget, please email me at membership@madisonschoolpta.org so we can help.
Another great way to get involved is by signing up for various volunteering opportunities by using our Sign Up Genius form. We are always looking for more hands to help with the school’s Beautification Committee, Art Appreciation, Battle of the Books, and much more!
I am often at school drop off or pick up with my second grader and kindergartener, Luke and Ben, so look for me if you have any questions or concerns or send me an email. I look forward to meeting you and working together!
All the best,
Emily Tasch
