PTO: Letter from the President
As your PTO President, I want you to know that we as a PTO take the stewardship of your donations very seriously. Even though we are just starting our third month of school, the PTO has been busy supporting our school in a variety of ways. Thus far we have been able to provide a $300 reimbursement to all classroom teachers who request it for supplies needed, but not provided by the district, a $7 per student credit towards a field trip during the school year (this is automatically applied before families are asked to pay),two assemblies (Johnathan Rand and a Halloween assembly), Kindergarten T-Shirts (which are provided to each student for free) and welcome signs for front lawns, Scholastic News for every classroom and lunch for teachers during conferences. Best of all....Two large Chrome book carts have been ordered (with possibly more to come) with all the software and additional accessories needed. Of special note, on November 8th the PTO was able to send 8 of our staff members (free of charge to them or the district) to attend the "Kevin's Song Conference," which is a local organization dedicated to generating public awareness about the causes of suicide and the importance of mental health. This is all because of the generous and involved community we have at our school. We are excited, and really just getting started. You can still help in many ways. First of all make sure you are a member of the PTO. You can still join in school or @PayPal.me/monteithpto. Please make sure your Kroger cards and Amazon smile accounts link to Monteith PTO as your charity of choice. We get 1% for all Kroger purchases linked to your card, and 1/2 of 1% of all Amazon purchases. As crazy as it sounds, these things add up quickly! Also we can always use more volunteers at events etc.. Feel free to call or email me if you have any concerns, or would like to get more involved.

Spirit Wear Orders are Due this FRIDAY!
Recess Information as we prepare for the cold!
Monteith students go outdoors for recess two times each day throughout the school year unless it is raining hard or the wind chill is below zero degrees Fahrenheit. Please be sure that your child leaves for school dressed properly for the weather. All students must have boots and snow pants to play on the wood chips or field once the snow is on the ground—otherwise they must stay on the blacktop. Students should NOT throw snow or ice while on Monteith grounds. This will help all the students enjoy the joy of snow. We also ask that you write your child’s name on his/her gloves, hats, boots, and coat. Our Lost and Found quickly fills up! It is already full right now and the snow hasn’t even arrived!
