SENIOR SIGNING DAY
NEED AID DETERMINING YOUR FINANCIAL AID?
ACCOMMODATIONS NEEDED
The Disability Resource Center at Eastern Michigan University notes that access is the focus at the collegiate level and notes that the laws pertaining to a K-12 student and a college student are different. Wayne State University's Student Disability Services Department highlights that past documents, paperwork or evaluations such as a 504 Accommodations Plan or an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) do not secure accommodations on campus but rather these documents factor into the decision process for determining accommodations on the college campus.
If you have questions about what department(s) or campus personnel you should be meeting with to determine academic accommodations on campus you can start by contacting the Admissions Office.

College Rankings - Does It Matter?
Maximize the College Visit
A college education is one of the most important investments that a student will make and the campus visit can be one of the best resources to help with that decision. Be sure to maximize your visit by keeping the following guidelines in mind. https://goo.gl/wugqw7
What to Do Junior Year
Junior year and the summer before senior year can be a busy time for students planning to pursue a college or trade/technical school education after graduation. The U.S. Department of Education offers the following guidelines:
IT's NOT A VACATION
Structured Gap Year Programs focus on volunteerism, community service, work and personal growth. Students learn life lessons and skills outside the classroom as they immerse in giving back, self-discovery and understanding the responsibilities that accompany adulthood. These gap year experiences can often rekindle a student's love of learning; something that may have been lost due to academic burnout. And many colleges support a structured gap year recognizing that the experiences a student gains can lead to confident, dynamic and mature teens.
And data indicates that students that participant in a structured Gap Year Program are 90% more likely to attend a higher education institution within one year and these students are more likely than their peers to graduate college within four years. Studies have also shown that students that successfully complete a structured gap year are more likely to earn one to two GPA points higher than traditional college freshmen.
Research supports that a person's happiness is often linked to experiences rather than stuff. And students that complete a structured gap year program can draw from a large canvas of experiences. For more information and resources on a Structured Gap Year visit https://goo.gl/5e2XCJ
