## How to add & subtract fractions

Step 1. Make sure that the bottom numbers (Denominator) are the same.

Step 2. Add the top numbers (Numerator) then put the answers over the denominator.

Step 3. Simplify if needed.

How to Subtract Fractions

Step 1. Find the smallest (LCD) of the both numbers.

Step 2. Rewrite the fractions as equivalent fractions with the LCM the denominator.

Step 1. Multiply across.
