Al Zahrawi wrote a detailed illustrated encyclopedia of surgery in about the year of 1000. This book was used for the next 500 years. He is also believed to be the inventor of the forceps.


The first medical center was the Ahmad ibn Tulun hospital. It was founded in 872 in Cario and provided free care for those who needed it, wich was based on muslim traditions.

How it affected what we have today.

These things were all a new point of innovation. They saved a large number of lives then and have saved even more lives now. We require medical attention a lot and without surgery and hospitals then most of us would be dead.
