CELC News & Updates
CELC Families,
Happy fall! I hope you had a nice weekend. It actually felt a little more like summer to me :).
We are excited for our annual Teddy Bear Picnic. Families are welcome to come join us on the lawn for a special lunch. Dual Language Kindergarten classrooms will be on Wednesday and English Only Kindergarten and all TK classes will be on Friday. Bring a lunch, blanket, and your favorite stuffed animal. Your child's teacher sent out information and the lunch times last week. If you have any questions, please contact the teacher. FYI If you plan to buy a lunch at a local spot in town, they get VERY busy. Expect long waits and plan accordingly. This will be especially true for the picnic on Friday.
We still need over 80 applications filled out. If you haven't already, please take the time to fill out the free/reduced application at https://www.alpineschools.net/o/ausd/page/free-and-reduced-meal-program to help CELC continue to receive Title I funding to support our students. Click on the SchoolCafe button to fill out the application. You will need your child's student ID number. You can get this in ParentVUE, ask your child's teacher, or call the office
Here are a few updates to help keep you informed:
Pastries with the Principal is an informal opportunity for parents to connect, hear more about what is going on around the site, and enjoy a treat. Please join us in the MPR if you would like to chat.
Please share any cute pictures that you take at the picnic. Send them to sgreen@alpineschools.net We will post them in the newsletter and/or on social media.
We LOVE volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity, please pick up the required paperwork in the office. Please take the time to do it now. If you are not up-to-date on your TB clearance, make sure you allow time to get that done. We also need time to complete a background check.
- Please send your student to school each day with a backpack, refillable water bottle, a healthy snack, and a lunch (unless they are getting a cafeteria lunch).
For the safety and security of students and staff, gates are locked during school hours.
- Please use the front gate for entering and exiting the campus. the side gates are for employees only and must remain closed.
Please report any absences to your child's teacher and the office. Please let the office know the reason that your child is out and any symptoms if they are sick. Email Mary Barkely, our amazing Clerk or call the office at 619-659-8250.
Before and after school care is available. Please see the flyer below or contact Aimee Hatfield, AUSD's ESS Coordinator, at ahatfield@alpineschools.net if you have any questions.
