Grapevine Mustang Band

Week of 11/17/2019

Notes from the Directors

Congratulations to Grapevine HS Team 100 on a great football season!

  • Wind Ensemble Mock All-Region auditions are scheduled for next week. We will be doing these in the format of the region audition. Please double check the calendar for your section’s times.
  • ALL students trying out for All-Region should have their money in the safe. If you did not turn in your money, you are late--GET IT IN ASAP!!
  • Percussion will be rehearsing for Carol of Lights before school next week. They will perform on Monday, November 25th.
  • Winterguard is having a parent information meeting on Monday, November 18th. Anyone interested in joining winterguard is welcome to attend. Please get your friends that are not in band there! The first Winterguard rehearsal is Thursday, November 21st.
  • All members of the band need to take their concert dress or tuxedo home. If you have not been fitted for concert wear you will be doing that Monday of next week.
  • Each concert band will perform at the Winter Concert on December 10th. We also have some surprises in store for that evening!
  • See below for itineraries for this week.
  • Check the band calendar for the most up-to-date information.

Pit Crew Scholarship

The Pit Crew Scholarship is now available on the band website. Current seniors in the band program may apply. Deadline to apply is November 15, 2019.

“The Pit Crew Scholarship recognizes and rewards seniors of the Grapevine High School (GHS) Mustang Band who exemplify what might be called the “pit crew work ethic” – working behind the scenes, doing unglamorous but necessary work, without seeking a reward other than helping the band. In particular, the scholarship seeks to reward band members who maintain good academic standing through the school year and who unselfishly support the band with no intent for self-promotion.”
