SBAC TESTING coming soon!

We are scheduled to start SBAC Testing beginning on March 29th through April 6th.

MAP Testing for all ELA, Math, & Science classes is scheduled for April 11 - April 27.

It is crucial that students come to school with:

  • Their Chromebook fully charged.
  • Personal earbuds (not wireless) for the test (KO Knudson is not responsible for lost personal items).
  • Plenty of rest. Eat a healthy breakfast and get to school on time!

Please help encourage your child to try and do their best on all tests!

March 21st Practice SBAC Testing Day

  • Parents please make sure all students bring their Chromebooks fully charged on this day so we can conduct a practice test. Thank you.

UNR invites 6th and 7th grade students to participate in their math/technology camp! Students can learn more about the camp and apply online Math Camp Program | College of Education and Human Development | University of Nevada, Reno (unr.edu).

Sixth- and seventh-grade students of any ability or background with a sincere interest in deepening their mathematics and technology knowledge are welcome to apply. It is also important to note that scholarships are available to students who can demonstrate evidence of financial need (free or reduced-price lunch status—total fee of $50 and $100, respectively).

Other details may be found on the attached form.

Please feel free to contact Heather Crawford-Ferre, Assistant Director

(775-682-7849; unrmathcamp@gmail.com) with any questions.

Cell Phones

We do not allow cell phone usage in classrooms at all! If a cell phone is confiscated by a teacher and taken to the Student Success Center, parents are required to pick up the phone. Cell phones are NOT given back to the student.

We have been conducting dress code and ID checks in random classes. Please make sure your child comes to school in the appropriate SSA clothing and wearing their ID. For safety, student must wear their school ID at all times while on campus.

When students are dress coded, they must return the borrowed item at the end of the day, otherwise a $10 fee will be applied to their student account.

Progressive discipline will be followed for continued violations regarding IDs or SSA.

Thank you for your support.

Student Drop Off and Pick Up

Parents please know that KO Knudson's operation hours are 6:30am - 3:00pm. Students are being left unsupervised and dropped off prior to 6:30am and left after school until 5:00pm. We do not have supervision available for students before and after school.

  • Zoned students should not arrive to school earlier than 7:30am.

All students must be picked up no later than 3:00pm unless they are involved with an after school club or activity.

We expect all KO students and spectators to demonstrate Cougar PRIDE in all they do, both in and out of our school community. Cougar PRIDE means we have to make POSITIVE choices to impact our growth, show RESPECT in all of our interactions, we demonstrate INTEGRITY, show DETERMINATION, and apply EFFORT to our academics/athletics.

  • NAC 385B.830 prohibits the use of taunting, foul, or abusive language or insulting gestures with any pupil, sports official or other person who is associated with a game, contest, meet or a practice. If the coach, administrator or faculty member becomes aware that a spectator of the school who engages in unsportsmanlike conduct during the game may require the spectator to refrain from engaging in the unsportsmanlike conduct and impose any applicable penalty or disciplinary action against the spectator.

Thank you for your part in keeping KO a safe and respectful environment for all.
