Come see what's new!

Here is what's new

You asked. We listened.

Our fall lineup is designed to allow you to customize your CYT experience. Pay one flat membership fee of $195 to take as many of our classes and workshops as your schedule will allow.

CLASS TYPES

There are several types of classes that CYT will offer in our new format. Not all types of classes will be offered every session.

Classes - Traditional, nine session classes that meet weekly and perform a showcase.

Workshops - Short, hands-on instruction on a targeted skill

Master Classes - Students watch and learn as a master technician coaches one or more students.

Event - An interactive activity or performance opportunity

Panel - Q&A with a group of experts

Demonstration - A special performance from an outside group

CYT@School - These classes meet in a school building as part of school curriculum or an after-school program. This program may serve public schools, private schools, or homeschool groups.

Skill Levels

Our changes to classes include fewer age restrictions for classes and a focus on skill levels. There are classes and workshops appropriate for students at all levels of experience. To aid in your class selection, we have identified the following skill level designations:

Junior: Classes designed for students ages 7 and under.

Level 1: This is a class designed for anyone wanting to learn or brush up on foundational skills in theater.

Level 2: This is an Intermediate level class. It is most appropriate for students that have some performance experience or have taken an introductory class in the designated area of study.

Level 3: This is an Advanced level class. Students taking this class should have significant performance or class experience in the designated area of study (at least 3-4 years) and be ready for a challenge!

A Note: We all need to continue to brush up on fundamental skills in all areas of our craft. If you are accustomed to taking a higher skill level class (for example, a level 2 or 3), you may also benefit from taking a workshop that is designated a level or two below.
