REMINDER FOR SPRING BREAK VACATIONS
FROM THE COMMUNIQUE OF 2/12/2021
Travel Restrictions
As we look ahead to Spring Break, please be aware of the Travel Guidance we will be following. The CDC has placed an ORDER related to International Travel. Anyone who leaves the country will be required to receive a negative test prior to getting on a plane to return to the United States. Upon return, international travelers will need to quarantine for two weeks. This includes children.
For those opting to travel domestically, the Lake County Health Department is recommending 1. Refrain from traveling if at all possible. 2. Upon return from domestic travel, quarantine for 10-days and obtain a COVID-19 rt-PCR test 5-7 days after your return. Individuals should continue to quarantine for 10 days even if they test negative. Students, in this situation, would participate in Remote Learning during this time.
If you traveled by car with members of your household and were able to maintain the 3w's (social distancing, hand washing, wearing a mask) at your destination, you would not be required to quarantine upon your return. It is recommended to not travel to Florida or California at this time as they currently have more than 50% of the cases of the new variants of COVID-19.
As a district, we cannot police anyone’s travel plans. We do ask you to refrain from travel if possible. If you travel, we ask everyone, families, and staff, to follow these guidelines and respond in the manner you see fit given your travel experience. We are all dependent upon one another to make decisions that consider one another. Just like most of us, there are D56 staff members who have returned to work with underlying health conditions, an at-risk household member, or are taking care of an elderly parent. Your decision to travel or quarantine after travel matters.

Message from the CDC
When you’re fully vaccinated for COVID19, you can start doing some things again, like gathering indoors w/other fully vaccinated people. Still, protect yourself and others in public places - wear a mask, stay at least 6ft apart, and avoid crowds. More: https://bit.ly/3btJaFU.
