Principals' Friendly Reminders ...
From the ENL Department!
EXC-ELL TRAINING DURING FACULTY MEETINGS!
For English Learners to succeed, content teachers must pre-teach academic vocabulary, integrate oral and written English language instruction, provide opportunities to develop writing skills, and provide small-group instructional interventions for striving ELs (What Works Clearinghouse).
A representative from your building attended a VDOE sponsored ExC-ELL training on October 5-7th.
Each person was expected to present the Expediting Comprehension for English Language Learners (ExC-ELL) 7 steps for Pre-teaching vocabulary during a faculty meeting in your school upon their return.
If your school has already received this training, please submit a copy of the agenda and sign in sheet to the ENL Department.
I know most of you have already completed this task, MUCHAS GRACIAS!
