Ideology
The Democratic Party is known to be the liberal party in the United States. The Democratic Party tends to support progressive social causes, a stronger taxation system and social programs based on community responsibility. They seek a balance between individual liberty, social justice, and the common good.
History of The Democrats
The Democratic Party was founded by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison on December 31st, 1793. This is the oldest based political party. Some famous members of this party is John F. Kennedy, Andrew Jackson, and Jimmy carter. An important life changing law that was passed by The Democratic Party was The Civil Rights Act of 1964, this act outlawed discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, and national origin. Currently The Democratic Party influences due to the legalization of gay marriage and Obama Care which were both passed by our current president, Barack Obama.
Hillary Clinton: 2016 Presidential Canidate
Hillary Clinton was born on October 26, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. She was born to Hugh Rodham and Dorothy Rodham. She served in office from January 21, 2009 to February 1, 2013. She also served as the 67th United States Secretary of State under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2013. In 2000 she was elected as the first female senator from New York, she is still the only women who has ever to have sough elected office.

Some interest groups such as health professionals, business services, lawyers, and law firms support and pour the most money into the democratic party elections. Some PAC's that support The Democratic Party are the 21st Century Democrats, Progressive Majority, and DailyKos.
