Dorothy Nolan Weekly Update
February 12, 2016
We encourage the celebration of our students and staff, but please be considerate of their confidentiality and privacy when attending classroom and school events. Not all are comfortable with their picture and/or names being informally posted or distributed through social media. Thank you for your understanding. Please see your classroom teacher should you have any questions.
Based on a recommendation from our school safety specialist, there will be a table in our vestibule where parents can leave items that their students forgot to bring with them to school, i.e. lunches, homework, classroom snacks, etc. Our Attendance Clerks will collect the items throughout the day and deliver them to your children. This will start after our winter break. Thank you for your cooperation.
Saratoga Baseball Camp
On February 23rd and 24th there will be a baseball camp for grades 3 through 8. The camp will take place from 6:00pm until 7:30pm at the Saratoga Springs High School. To register, please visit www.saratogabaseballcamps.com.
This camp is an opportunity to work on the fundamentals of the game both offensively and defensively. Students will take time each day to work on hitting, fielding, throwing and pitching. The basics taught at this camp are universal to the success of any baseball player.
SNACPack Food Drive
The SNACPack program is designed to meet the needs of hungry children on weekends, when other resources are not available. The program provides backpacks filled with food that is child-friendly, shelf-stable, and easily-consumed. Bags are packed each week by volunteers and discreetly distributed to participating children every Friday afternoon.
The SNACPack program will be collecting goods at Dorothy Nolan. They are looking for 4 items which include:
- Protein Bars
- Mac & Cheese, Water Only type (Ex. Easy Mac, Velveeta)
- 100% Juice Boxes
- Pasta (any type)
Donations can be dropped off in the front lobby. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
