HFRCS Newsletter SY 2022-2023
January 17, 2023 - Vol.2 Issue 20
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are very excited to be welcoming the Barn Hill Preserve to our school this Thursday for an assembly program for the whole school. The Barn Hill Preserve is a mobile animal program that brings exotic animal ambassadors into the school along with their travelling educators who speak about biology, ecology, environmental stewardship, responsible pet ownership, life science and other interesting, related topics! It is necessary that everyone who attends the assembly have a signed permission slip. If you haven’t already done so, please send in your permission slip tomorrow so that your child can attend this wonderful presentation. The permission slip is attached to this newsletter.
This Friday will be an Eagles “add-on” day! To support and cheer on our Philadelphia Eagles in their Divisional playoff game on Saturday evening against the New York Giants, students are permitted to wear their Eagles jerseys and tee shirts over their regular winter uniform. Students can also wear Eagles green if they do not have any Eagles attire. Here’s hoping our Eagles can claim victory on Saturday and move on in their quest for the Super Bowl!
Please mark your calendars for Sunday, January 29th for our Catholic Schools Week Open House! Our Open House is from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and is for all current parents, parishioners, and prospective families. If you know of anyone interested in our school, please encourage them to come and see what we are about! There will be information on enrolling for the coming school year, financial aid opportunities, and information on our Home and School Association. Our faculty and staff will be here to answer questions, and we have student ambassadors on hand to provide informative school tours.
Today we have included in our newsletter, our schedule for Catholic Schools Week! This year our theme is: “Catholic Schools are SUPER! We learn! What’s your Superpower?” Please see the attached schedule for all the fun activities planned for Catholic Schools Week 2023!
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty

Remember to go to Mass this weekend.

Catholic Schools’ Week Service Project
Women’s Animal Center
Location: 3839 Richlieu Rd, Bensalem
About The Women’s Animal Center
The Women’s Animal Center was once called The Women’s Humane Society. This is a “no-kill” animal shelter that accepts all animals found or surrendered, regardless of age, breed, size or health. They are committed to placing all healthy or medically and behaviorally treatable animals into new homes by implementing proven methods of lifesaving and rehabilitation. The Women’s Animal Center ultimately provides shelter, veterinary care, behavior training, rescue transfer and adoption services for over 3,000 animals in need each year.
The Women’s Animal Center serves approximately 10,000 patients annually in their low-cost Veterinary Hospital, with a focus on making pet ownership affordable and helping to reduce owner surrenders related to financial burden. All of the service fees raised through the Veterinary Hospital are directly reinvested into the shelter and rehoming of the stray, abandoned and abused animals in our care.
The Center also works with schools and scout programs to build a more compassionate future for animals. They receive no federal, state or local government funding, and depend upon the support, partnership and patronage of local and national communities to accomplish their animal welfare mission.
