The Cougar's Den
October 2018
Principal's Corner
The school year is well underway and it has been a pleasure getting to know the students and seeing their accomplishments!
September was an exciting month. We held our first honor roll breakfast which is traditionally held once a quarter. It recognized the students from fourth quarter of the 2018-2019 school year. We had 51 students make the honor roll by achieving a 3.0 GPA or above. Those students were invited to attend the breakfast. Our staff donated, prepared, and served the food for the breakfast. It is a great event that promotes and recognizes our staff and students dedication to academics and citizenship!

· Is my child’s teacher licensed to teach the grades and subject(s) assigned?
· Is my child’s teacher teaching with a provisional license, meaning the state has waived requirements for my child’s teacher?
· What is the college major of my child’s teacher(s)?
· What degree or degrees do my child’s teachers hold?
· If there are instructional aides working with my child, what are their qualifications?
· If my child is or will be taught for 4 or more consecutive weeks this year by a teacher who is not highly qualified, will I be notified in a timely manner?
To request the state qualifications of your child’s teacher(s) or instructional aide(s), please contact Derek Gardner at Frank Church High School.
