What's Happening?
UPDATE on absence notes: Going forward, we are required to have all absence excuses in the form of a written note. Email notes cannot be accepted anymore. Thanks for your understanding.

Our Thanksgiving lunch time is 12:15 on 11/13. We will have sack lunches on 11/14.
In this week's Friday Folder:
What are we learning?
Math (Mrs. Lee's Class): The decimal unit test is on Tuesday, 11/5. We will start our fractions unit next week. We will begin by reviewing improper fractions/mixed numbers as well as equivalent fractions. These are both 4th grade skills that are vital to 5th grade fraction skills.
Science (Mrs. Lee's Class): We are beginning our next unit on learned and inherited traits. Retake opportunity for the microorganisms test will be on Thursday, 11/7.
Social Studies: WWI test is scheduled for Monday, 11/4. We will then begin our unit on Post WWI America and the Roaring Twenties.
Writing: We have been further researching WWI. We will be walking through the process of nonfiction writing in the coming days.
Reading: We are continuing on focus on nonfiction reading. We will be discussing main ideas and details as well as organization of nonfiction texts.
