New Science Curriculum for Grades 4-5
Teachers will receive training prior to teaching their first Science unit. As part of the curriculum cycle for Science, 4th and 5th grade teachers will be released for PD on the new curriculum. The first day will be done this fall with Sherri Lorton, and the second and third days will follow in January with Paul Andersen. Our curriculum writers and all K-3 teachers had the opportunity to work with Paul last year, and we are lucky to be able to bring him back for teachers implementing new curriculum this year. Dates for each of these trainings are below. Please note that the fall dates depend on your building, and while there are 2 dates for each building, your team will only attend one. Please use sub code 070 for all dates; all sessions will be 8:30 to 3:30. Fall sessions with Sherri are at the DLC or Board Room as indicated, and January sessions with Paul Andersen will all be in the Board Room.

Pearson Realize (EnVisionMath online access)- Teacher and Student access
TEACHERS WITHOUT STUDENTS ASSIGNED IN IC (Resource, ESOL, etc.)
If you had access last year, your name should already be on our separate upload for access. If you did NOT have access last year, please let me know, and I will have you added to the list. It's typically easiest to add a batch at one time rather than individuals day by day, so if you can let me know by this Friday, August 9, I will compile a list for IT to upload. Thanks!
CLASSROOM TEACHER ACCESS
All classroom teachers should be accessing Pearson Realize via the Single Sign-On method through Easy Bridge or Clever. The district-specific URL is located on every building's website (shortcut: http://bit.ly/2b1mE74 ) as well as on teachers' desktops (labeled "Pearson EasyBridge"). When you login in through the district portal (using your usual district credentials - like when you login to your computer) everything is synced through Infinite Campus each evening and your class will be automatically updated with any adds, drops, or changes. This 7-minute tutorial for teachers on getting started is VERY helpful (https://media.pearsoncmg.com/curriculum/EasyBridge/EBPlus/Tutorials/Plus_QS_TeacherTutorial/story_html5.html) as well as this document that steps you through the process (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1eFGvSonOhxqdAVMu-aQx-ekQkMSgx9lW).
Step 1 on the video looks different, but when it talks about logging into the district portal, it is where the link on your website or the “bitly” link takes you. When you add a program, be sure to add the enVision Math Common Core Realize Edition for your grade level(s)- this seems to be toward the bottom of the list. All teachers with a class in IC should have access to grades K-6 (in case you want to add other grade levels for interventions or extensions).
The way infinite campus sends files to Pearson makes it so that each course shows up four times (once per quarter). Because of this, you will need to go back to Easybridge and add programs to your class for each quarter, or do all four quarters at the beginning of the year.
TEACHERS WITHOUT STUDENTS ASSIGNED IN IC (Resource, ESOL, etc.)
I am working with our IT department and Pearson on the best route, as Pearson has made some changes. As soon as I have additional information, I will send an email regarding this.
STUDENT ACCESS
Students can also access Pearson Easy Bridge on your building website or through Clever. Student usernames will be first initial of first name last name and last 3 digits of their ID (jsmith456). When you look at your class, it will look like their names are something like "john.a.smith@fhsd-mo", however, their logins are as described above. All K-5 passwords have been reset to FhXXXXXX, where XXXXXX is the full student number (Fh123456). Please note the “F” is capitalized. This will be their same password for Google.
The link for teachers and student logins are the same; it is on all school websites for parents/students to have a quick reference. Providing students/parents access will not just allow them to see the data if you assign anything online, but will also give them the ability to re-watch videos of skills/concepts from class as well as look at center activities and play games to keep their skills sharp.
After you have logged in and added your grade level materials to your class, you can download this informational handout for students to send home:
