Principal's Message

Happy New Year!

We started our week with our PBIS assembly for December awards. Below are photos of our students of the month who were being Safe, Responsible, and Respectful for the month of December.

We had 195 students with "good" or perfectly perfect" attendance for the month of December. That is almost 50% of our students! Way to go Bulldogs! Being at school every day on time is a good habit to establish. We know, however, that kids get sick and that, under current guidelines, we have some that are quarantined. December overall was a good month for the majority of our students and we celebrate that!

When the weather is bad or it is too cold (below 30 degrees), we have all students enter into the cafeteria in the mornings. Teachers will pick students up from the cafeteria on these mornings. Breakfast is served starting at 7:30 a.m. Yard duty supervision begins at 7:55. Please do not drop off students prior to this time. School begins at 8:15.

Have an amazing weekend~

Mrs. Jennifer Elledge--Second Grade

Mrs. Elledge has been part of the Susanville School District team for 6 years. This is her third year teaching 2nd grade. Prior to teaching, she spent ten years working in the corporate world using her marketing degree. After becoming a mom, she knew in her heart she really wanted to go into teaching. Her favorite subject to teach is reading because she loves opening her students up to different worlds and helping them use their imaginations. Seeing the growth that her students make in reading each year is very rewarding for her. Mrs. Elledge says the best part about teaching second grade is that students are, "becoming independent, but still little and so much fun to be around." In her free time, Mrs. Elledge loves to bake. Rumor has it that her chocolate chip cookies are awesome! Well, McKinley thinks you are awesome, Mrs. Elledge! Thank you for making every day "sweet" for your students!
