How do I Excuse my Student for an Appointment?
Blue Pass!!!!!
If you are needing to pick up your student at a certain time, Parents/Guardians are more than welcome to call us earlier in the day and we will be happy to deliver a blue pass to your student.
A Blue Pass is a student’s pass out of class. For example, if you have an orthodontist appointment in the afternoon, call the attendance line at 970-833-7105 and leave a message with your child’s name, your name and time you would like your student to be released. The school office will then deliver a "blue pass" to your student. When the designated time arrives, your child may show the teacher the blue pass and can leave class to meet you. They will already be checked out in our system and do not need to check out in the office. Parents/Guardians also do not need to come to the office when a Blue Pass is issued.

It’s not just election season in the United States, but also in Russia. According to the BBC, the “United Russia (Единная Россия)” party won 50% of the vote in the recent parliamentary election. The Communist Party headed by Gennady Zuganov won the next highest number of votes (19%). “United Russia” is Vladimir Putin’s party. The BBC reported that 50% was a slight drop from previous elections. “United Russia” will retain its majority in the parliament and will have two thirds of the 450 seats in the State Duma (Russia’s lower house). Russia’s elections continue to be marred by accusations of fraud, however. Many opposition parties have been banned from elections and Mr. Putin’s loudest critic Alexei Navalny has been jailed. Elections in other countries of the Former Soviet Union seem to follow this same pattern. I observed a presidential election in Kyrgyzstan as a formal U.S. Embassy election monitor and saw widespread fraud. Politics everywhere these days seems to be a contact sport. The BBC article is below if you want more details about the Russian election. Bis nächste Woche! До следующей недели! Alles gute! Всего хорошего!
