Marching Band

Uniform Fittings
The Marching Flashes will be fitted into their marching uniforms during the summer practices. Students should dress in a t-shirt and shorts to wear under the uniform. Bring a smile because we'll be taking your photo in uniform. You will look amazing as a Marching Flash!
Schedule is as follows:
July 15, 3:30PM - Baritone
July 19, 9AM – Drumline
July 20, 9AM - Front Ensemble
July 21, 9AM – Make Up Date
Location: Annex Building (North of football stadium), Door 14S (faces the football stadium)
Color guard fitting dates TBA.

Band Camp! July 19 - 24
Band Camp will be held July 19 - 24 from 9am - 8pm. Camp is for all Marching Band students - guard, winds, and percussion.
Things to Bring/Wear
- Filled water jug (one gallon)
- Sunscreen
- Hand sanitizer (personal size)
- Clean mask
- Sunglasses and Hat (winds/perc only)
- Athletic clothes (+ back-up set in case of rain)
- Appropriate athletic shoes (good soles and support)
- Gloves (guard only)
- Fanny Pack
- Shoelace (if no fanny pack)
- Spiral bound 3x5 cards (we call it a dot book - winds/perc only)
- Mechanical Pencils
- Instrument/Equipment
- Sheet Music (winds/perc only)
- Binder with sheet protectors (already provided - winds/perc only)
- Pinwheel (winds)
- Lunch (12 – 1pm)

Monday: Dress Like a Dad (khakis, tee/Hawaiian shirt, knee socks)
Tuesday: Favorite Holiday (Dress like your favorite holiday)
Wednesday: Favorite Character (From a movie, tv or book)
Thursday: Rockstar!
Friday: Section Color Day!
Dinner Menu
(Band Boosters will provide dinner 4 -5pm)
Monday: Fried Chicken with Mac and Cheese
Tuesday: Barbeque Sandwiches
Wednesday: Nachos!
Thursday: Special dinner at 6pm provided by FC Football Team, grilled hot dogs and games
Friday: Pizza! (also, gluten free pizza will be provided)

First Aid Volunteers Needed
Band camp starts on July 19! Our students need volunteers with experience in First Aid to be on campus during the 9am – 8pm practices. There is no requirement for you to be there all day. We will take whatever time you can offer. We still need help during the day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please contact Travis Sears. marchingbandliaison@fcbands.org
Wanted: Grill Masters
Would you enjoy lending your grilling skills for the band this fall? We are evaluating if there are enough volunteer grillers to prepare burgers and hot dogs for the students in September or October. If you are interested in grilling for the band, please contact our food lead, Melissa Kieper.
Parent Preview Show
The parent preview show will be Thursday, August 26th, 7:30pm at the football stadium. This is the night before our first halftime show performance. Our students' hard work will be showcased, and you will be impressed with the results of the summer’s efforts. Please arrive at 7:30pm, the show will start shortly afterwards.
Meanwhile, please be aware that practices are open to parents, family and friends. Thursdays at 8pm are a good time to see the band wrap up a practice at the stadium. You can catch the first Thursday evening practice at the stadium on August 5th.

Fundraising
Car Wash and Raffle Fundraiser
ADULT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
FC Bands Annual Car Wash and Raffle Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, July 24 from 9am - 4 pm. The car wash will be located to Chicago’s Pizza, Flashbacks and the high school. There will be two shifts: 8:30am – 12:30pm and 12:30pm – 4:30pm. We need 4 – 6 parent volunteers to supervise each site. Also, we’ll need someone to sell raffle tickets. Student volunteers will have a great time washing cars with their friends and raising money for the band. The sign-up sheet will also be available in the band room during band camp.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to recover from the lost fundraisers of the last school year due to Covid. The money raised by the car wash and raffle will benefit the general operating fund of the Band Boosters. This activity also gives our students and parents an opportunity to work as a team outside of practice.
