From Mrs. Cockrell

Dear Chisholm Trail Families,

What a great week we have ahead of us as we begin to wrap up an amazingly adventurous school year. It has been a year of many twists and turns and you all have done a great job keeping your learners going. We have all learned so much this year.

First grade will have their Reading Restaurant this week and even though we will not have parents on campus, other staff members are excited to visit the classroom restaurants. Our first graders have worked very hard on their reading skills to serve up some tasty books.

Second grade will have their virtual field trips this week, too.

We hope that you are making plans to enjoy your summer break and also include some opportunities for your learners to use the skills they worked so hard to build this year. Reading and listening to books read aloud, cooking in the kitchen with you, working on basic math skills such as counting, addition, and subtraction, writing stories, and making lists are only a few opportunities you can provide for them to keep their skills sharp. We will also send home a summer reading challenge that all of our grade levels will be able to participate in.

Enjoy your week and, as always, thank you for sharing your children with us!

Is your child missing a coat or jacket?

We have a large collection of jackets and coats that have not been claimed by students. Please take a moment to watch the video below and see if anything belongs to your child. Unclaimed items will be donated. Thanks for your help!

Thank you for getting your students to school on time! Drop off time begins at 7:35 each morning. Staff will be available to supervise students at 7:35 so please do not allow students to walk up to the building before this time.

Each morning the back gate is closed at 7:45 when school begins. If you arrive to drop off your child and this gate is closed, there is no staff on duty in the back and the doors are locked. Any students arriving after 7:45 need to be dropped off and may enter the front of the school. Thanks for helping us ensure student safety!

The 2021-2022 calendar has been approved!

Thank you for your continued support for our procedures this year. Children are arriving no earlier than 7:35 and entering the building safely, wearing masks.

We appreciate that you have your car tags hanging on your mirror at dismissal. In the case of a forgotten tag, we will do an ID check as efficiently as possible, but we may ask you to pull up ahead of the line and wait for a moment.

Helpful Reminders

Parents, please remember to LABEL your children's belongings. (Water bottles, jackets, masks, lunch boxes, back packs, etc.) We want all items to stay with their rightful owners. When things are left behind, it is very tricky to return them if they are not labeled. Thank you for your help with this.
