Balanced Literacy Reading Instruction-What’s My Role?
(K-3) Benchmark Literacy Assessments
Sight Words can be found embedded in your phonics lessons. Sight word cards are organized by unit. Select the unit you are working in and select "Resources".
(K-3) I Only Have 25 Copies OF Benchmark Literacy Texts For Close Reading. What Can I Do?
Benchmark Literacy sets came with 25 copies of the Text for Close Reading. We realize that many classrooms have more than 25 students. The purpose of these books is to read with support from the teacher. The text in these books is at grade level. Many students may not be able to read this text independently and that is not the purpose of these books. In these lessons students are to look at the text in partners as the teacher models good reading. If you would like each student to have their own copy, the text can be displayed from the Benchmark Universe website or printed out in black line form (in the back of each unit and also on the website.)
Benchmark Universe
Some of you may have experienced difficulties with accessing blackline masters on the new.benchmarkuniverse website. A solution to your problem has been found! The pop-up blocker is not allowing you access to these pages. In Chrome, you will find a grey shield in the address bar. Click this shield and select "Load Unsafe Script".
