Bring your teammates to the first ever professional development geared specifically for middle level educators in Hickory Public Schools! Attend all three days and receive one technology CEU and one Literacy CEU. This is a total of 2 total continuing education units.

Day one at Grandview Middle will focus on the aspects that make middle schools unique places to support young adolescents. Come with your teammates to plan strategies you will use next year to facilitate teaching and learning. Sessions will address adolescent development, Middle School Concept, and effective teaming. Bring your teammates!

Day two at Northview will focus on the aspects of middle level education that are engaging and supportive for student learning. Topics for this day will include digital teaching and learning, effective advisory programs, Breaking Ranks in the Middle, and a block of time for teams to plan. Encourage your teammates to join you for this time to prepare for the fall.

The morning of day three will be devoted to teams working in their buildings. Knowing student needs is central to success for any teacher. Teachers will spend this time investigating student data and planning supports to help all students find success. The afternoon will be devoted to content area sessions and instructional strategies that work!
