FBISD Community Advisory Team
Be the voice your community needs by serving on a FBISD Community Advisory Team (CAT). The Fort Bend ISD (FBISD) Department of Collaborative Communities is creating CATs to provide guidance on the diverse needs of each feeder pattern across the District. The CATs will discuss and seek feedback on key topics that align with District goals and objectives. CATs will also serve in an advisory capacity to help identify gaps in resources needed to support student learning and development and inform the District’s strategic efforts to address student and community needs.
If you are interested in serving on a CAT, please apply using the following link(s):
Fort Bend ISD Community Advisory Teams 2021-2022 Application
Solicitud para integrar los Equipos Asesores Comunitarios de Fort Bend ISD 2021-2022
Applications are open now through April 30.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the Department of Collaborative Communities at CollaborativeCommunities@fortbendisd.com.
Attention 6th Grade Parents
If you have not sent in an updated copy of your student's immunization record, please do so as soon as possible. We are looking for the TDAP and MCV immunizations, and many of our 6th graders may have received these required vaccines! The clinic staff does not work during the summer, and we would love to have your student compliant before the end of 6th grade. Please know, if we do not receive the updated records, your student will not be able to get their schedule or locker during summer jag camp. Please email the record to amy.schepanski@fortbendisd.com or fax to 281-327-6325. As always if you have any questions, feel free to call us at 281-634-6325.
End of Year Schedule
The End Of Year Schedule for all FBISD middle schools can be accessed below. The schedule is for the days Friday, May 28 through Thursday, June 3. The district adjusted Wednesday, June 2, by making it a full day (8:50-4:05), rather than an early release day, because of minutes needed to comply with state law. Therefore, our only early release day is the last day of school, Thursday, June 3. School will be over at 1:20 that day.
ATHLETICS
Are you looking to play a sport or get involved in High School? Tennis is a lifelong sport, it is fun, great exercise and you can meet friends! You DID NOT have to make the middle school team in order to tryout or play in high school and we hope that we will see you on the tennis courts in the fall? If you would like to know more, email Coach Martinez or follow us on Twitter at: @TravisTennis
Why freshman should play during their 9th grade year:
- They earn their PE credit because they take the Tennis PE Athletic class with Coach Martinez.
- They get a year of tennis experience. If they come out as sophomores or juniors, the freshman who did play are usually ahead of them and have a better chance of playing.
- If they have a drive to learn and get better, they can actually be pretty good tennis players.
- They get to be apart of something right from the start, be part of a group, meet new friends and they learn time management skills needed to be successful in high school, college and in life!!!
- Learn and play a Life Long sport!
CAMPUS REMINDERS
ATTENDANCE
Attendance and engagement in all classes, regardless of learning model, is expected from every student, every day. Parent notes are required for all absences within five days from the absence date. Notes must include full student name as well as the reason for the absence (including technical difficulties). If a student misses a synchronous engagement, they are counted absent. Please email all absence notes to AttendanceSMS@fortbendisd.com. Contact our attendance clerk, Mrs. Williams, at (281)634-6322 if you have questions.
DAILY WELLNESS SCREENER
Parents/students must complete a Daily Wellness Screening through Skyward. If your child is cleared, they may attend school that day. If your child is not cleared, they may not report to school and a member from the district COVID-19 contact tracing team will contact families directly. In addition to the screener, students will receive, and must pass, a temperature check before reporting to their classroom. To make student entry as safe and efficient as possible, please make sure the screener is completed prior 8:00 AM each day. Another way students can be allowed in is by showing a screen shot of their “cleared” screen. This screen shot must show the date for that day to be accepted.
FACE MASKS
As part of our continued efforts to keep our students and staff safe, Fort Bend ISD will continue to require masks and facial coverings in all schools and District facilities.
The District will continue this requirement until it can further review guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Fort Bend County health officials, and the District’s medical advisor, and the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Per the Governor's statement, "public schools may operate as provided by, and under the minimum standard health protocols found in, guidance issued by the Texas Education Agency."
The overall health and safety of the community remains a priority, and District leadership is aware that not all employees have had the opportunity to be vaccinated. Retaining the mask mandate will ensure a safe learning environment for all students, teachers and staff. Students who arrive on campus without a mask will be given a fresh, new disposable mask to wear.
