Biography
El Greco is the artist that I have chosen to research for this project. He was born 1541 in the city of Crete Italy. Greco spent about thirty years in Venice Italy but moved to Toledo Spain for the rest of his life. One of the reasons Greco moved to Spain was to expand his knowledge of painting to pursue his career as an artist. He met a person named Titan who is known to be one of the greatest painters in the world. He taught El Greco how to use perspective and constructing figures in his work which made him to be the well known fantastic artist that we know him of today. El Greco was known for his paintings like Saint Andrew, Annunciation, and Saint Sebastian. One of Grecos biggest supporters or Patrons was a man named Alexander Farnese. He was Duke of Parma and Piacenza and also the governor of the Spanish Netherlands. In Grecos art he was known for using Individualism, Cubism , and Expressionism. Much of his work was individualism because he liked to express one character and who they were and he made that the focus of his paintings. Also he used expressionism to show the emotional value in his art.
