Back To School Reminders
Buses- We understand many of our busses have been running late. We communicate with district transportation regularly, and we are hopeful that as routes are perfected and drivers become more acclimated to traffic patterns, we will see improvement. You can view transportation status updates here, Transportation / School Bus Status (cbsd.org)
You should receive text alerts if your child's bus is running late. Be sure you have a current cell phone number in Infinite Campus.
PM Car Riders:
Please display your child's name at carline pick up. For those families that indicated their child will be a car rider, we have put a car line pick up sign in your child's Friday Folder, displaying this will help the line move more quickly. Please pull into our car line and follow our signage. Parents should remain in the car. This is for everyone's safety. We will have staff members outside to help.
ALL parents and children should use the crosswalk. If you park your car and walk to the sidewalk you should only cross at the crosswalk. Students are not permitted to run across the bus lane to meet you in the parking lot. We have many busses pulling in and it is difficult for drivers to see pedestrians crossing outside of the crosswalk area.

Little Bites Recycling Project
This Spring Mrs. Martin and her fifth-grade class initiated a Little Bites Recycling Project. She has reported it was a big success. As a school, we collected over 11 pounds of Little Bite wrappers in just a short amount of time. The company will make a donation to our school. Continue to save your Little Bites wrappers and bring them to school.
Thanks for always helping to make a difference in our community.

Lessons, Clinics, and Teams
Our group swim lessons for children starting at age 3 1/2 are offered in the fall and spring. Details for fall 2023 are posted HERE. Lessons are full at this time but if you’d like to be added to the wait list, contact Ashley Bauer at email@example.com.
We offer private swim lessons (including adaptive lessons) on Sundays during the months of October through May for children starting at age 5. Information is posted HERE. If you’re interested, please email to find out if there is space available before registering: Ashley Bauer at firstname.lastname@example.org for standard lessons or Roberta Lichter at email@example.com for adaptive lessons.
Our swim and dive clinics are a great opportunity for athletes to develop their skills and get ready for team participation. Our next swim clinic is the pre-team swim clinic which will be held in September. Information is posted HERE. For returning team members, registration is open with a deadline of August 15th. Evaluations for potential new members are coming up soon. If interested, please visit the site to complete and email a pre-registration form. The next diving clinic will be in the spring, but new divers should consider the diving team described below.
Our next season for swim and dive teams will begin in the fall. We have two swim teams: CBST-SAL and CBST-USAS. We also have a diving team which is part of the SAL team. The SAL team can accommodate experienced competitive swimmers/divers and those new to the sport but is not a learn-to-swim program. The USAS team is for more experienced and committed swimmers. Information about all teams is posted HERE. For returning team members, registration is open with a deadline of August 15th. For potential new members, evaluations will be in September for the SAL team, including diving. If interested, please visit the site to complete and email a pre-registration form – ideally by early August. The USAS team evaluation window for this season has passed but if interested email Jennifer Steinberg at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out about the next opportunity to join the team.
