A Note from our Principal
Dear Parents,
I hope everyone had a great Spring Break! It was nice to have some time off. The students returned to school ready to go again. Before we know it, we will be at the end of another school year.
If you have a child who will be in kindergarten next school year, we will be having our Kindergarten Round-Up on Thursday, April 19th from 8:00-5:00. There is more information about this in this newsletter. Please note that you do not have to bring your child with you to register them, however, they are welcome to come. If you are not able to make it on that day, you may register them on any school day after April 19th. Please be sure that you bring all of your documentation with you on the day you register.
There will be an information meeting for any parents who would like to learn more about our Dual Language Program. Students may enter this program beginning in
kindergarten. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 24 at 6:00 pm in the EEC cafeteria.
The kindergarten music program will be held on Tuesday, April 10th at the Performing Arts Center. Come and see what your child has been learning in music class.
There will be no school for students on April 27. That is a day we set aside for bad weather, but since we didn't have any, we get to enjoy that beautiful spring day out of school.
Please make sure that you are dropping your child off for school on time. School starts at 7:45 a.m. and the tardy bell rings at 7:55 a.m. Also, please be sure you are also picking your child up on time. Kindergarten, first grade and afternoon Pre-K dismiss at 3:10 p.m. Please continue to use your car-tags when picking up your child.
Our new food service program seems to be a big hit with our students. Each day they have the opportunity to choose from the fun bag, a salad or an entree. Please
remember that they cannot charge any of the ala carte items. Please make sure your child has a positive meal account at all times. Per Krum ISD policy, your child is allowed 2 charges and will then be given 2 alternative meals. After that time they will come to
the office so that we can give you a reminder call about his/her account. I appreciate your help in keeping up with the meal accounts and taking care of any charges.
I appreciate my awesome group of parents. You have been such a wonderful group to work with this year. I appreciate you trusting us with your most precious gift.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Friday May 11, we will be joined by the Adventure Dash Team and have a fun run for the kids, parents, and volunteers. What is Adventure Dash? Adventure Dash is a 10 day fundraiser we will be having here at the EEC. Best part there are no toy prizes or anything to sell, instead the final prize goes to the EEC and we will be able to purchase playground equipment for everyone to enjoy. Detailed information will be sent home prior to the event so you can send out emails, use social media to contact friends and family to donate money to sponsor your child in the run and help us reach our goal of $10,000.00.
This year will be like no other, a week prior to field day we will have special events going on, the Adventure Dash team will be here helping with classes and dressed up as some of our favorite Healthy Characters as they assist staff with the car drop-off and pick-up lines. Classes will have a chance to earn class prizes like DJ Party, Extra Recess, and more during the two weeks leading up to Beach Blast/Adventure Dash Run. Students will also earn wristbands as they have money donated, again no toys just a wrist band showing they are part of the EEC team working for one goal. Who wouldn't love some extra swings, a new play set, and more.
Get ready to be pumped and keep an eye out for this great event, we can't wait to show those big towns what a small town can do when we pull together to support out students!
We also sent home your EEC Beach Blast Shirt order forms. Please get those back to us as soon as you can, include any adult sizes you may also want on your child's form. We have added a section for those of you who would like to donate a shirt to a student who may not be able to afford one. Just add your donation amount and send it all in, we will handle it from there.
We can't wait to hear from you. EEC one team, one family, one goal!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is already April! Are you ready for our upcoming kindergarten performance? Our first graders had such a great performance last week and I can't wait to see our kindergartners perform soon! The kindergarten performance will be Tuesday, April 10th at the KHS auditorium. This will be a great opportunity for you to see some things that your child has been learning in music class. It will be a short exhibition style performance of just a few things that we do on a weekly basis. It will be very casual and laid back, so there is no need for the students to dress up or wear anything fancy. I can't wait to see you there! The classes will be performing in two groups as follows:
6:00 p.m. - Phillips, Morisak, Gilbreath, Yanez
6:30 p.m. - Morrison, McBrayer, Haberman, Smith
Thank you and I'll see you there!

Dear Parents,
A note from Nurse Quy
SHOULD I KEEP MY CHILD HOME?
The School Day begins at midnight. If your child vomits, or has a temperature of 99.5 degrees or more, please keep them home from school. It does not help your child's health to give medication for fever and send them to school, nor does it take care of the illness that is causing the fever.
Coming to school sick (possibly contagious) not only exposes other children to the illness, but also delays your child’s healing time. Children must be fever-free without the assistance of medicine for 24 hours before returning to school. Attendance and punctuality are so important but, staying home to recover from illness is a greater need.
Stay healthy!
