JROTC - An Honor Unit of Distinction
The JROTC underwent their Program of accreditation inspection this month. It is a grueling process that occurs every 3 years. The program always scores well, but on their last inspection they scored 94.4/100 to just miss being an Honor Unit of Distinction. Colonel Flood expected this inspection to be a “nail biter” also in regards to being a HUD program. He was wrong! It wasn’t close, as the program has scored 99.75/100 to become an Honor Unit of Distinction for the first time since 2016! Congratulations to Colonel Flood, SSG Myers, SSG Walls, Sgt Rivera, and the cadets on this impressive accomplishment!
Please Congratulate!!
Aaron DiClaudio, Alex Baldasaro, Jordan Sheppard, Noah Bekeshka, and Robert Eldridge for the team, "Dog House on Wheels," placing as a runner up in the Firstrust, Eagles, and Everfi Game Plan Enterprise competition.
Through collaboration with EverFi, this team submitted their initial pitch via video in March. The competition was open to ALL students in the tri-state area. Theirs was the only team of combined students with disabilities and general ed students. All other teams were the general education population. Out of 30 schools, they placed in the top five and were invited to present their pitch live. The judges included the CFO of Everfi, the Eagles, and Firstrust Bank, as well as a special "celebrity" judge, Avonte Maddox, the Eagles cornerback. At the conclusion of the competition, it was announced that their team was a runner up, and they won $500.00 to advance their dog treat project.
Art Show
I want to send out a huge congratulations to Pam DeRose, Soyan Unkow, and Leah Christenson.
If you were able to attend the event, you were not disappointed. The Media center was packed with parents and community members. We had participation from art teachers from all of the sending districts along with our Middle School. The student artwork on display was nothing short of amazing!!!
April Crusaders of the Month
Unified Track Meet
Our annual Unified Track and Field meet and as usual, did not disappoint. Below are a few pictures, but if you go to @delseaathletics on twitter you can see some more. The teams did an amazing job and the competition was fierce. Thank you to Abbie Bilinski, Sue Coppola, and Christine Dougherty for doing an outstanding job coaching up the athletes and helping to organize the event, Rob Briles for announcing, Tim Lomerson and the crew for getting the stadium ready, and to all who showed up to support our team. They did an amazing job and won a bunch of hardware in true Delsea fashion!
